According to local sources, two children were reported killed, and four other civilians injured in alleged Russian forces or Syrian regime airstrikes one of which hit an IDP shelter in Kafrnaha in the western suburbs of Aleppo governorate in Syria, on January 17th, 2020. Edlib Media Center reported that Russian warplanes targeted the area with rockets.
Step News Agency said that “Russian warplanes targeted with vacuum missiles the town of Kafrnaha in the western countryside of Aleppo, killing two children and wounding four civilians, who were in a shelter for the displaced people in the outskirts of the town.”
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SN4HR) said that “Fixed- wing warplanes we believe were Russian, fired missiles on an IDP shelter which was originally a beauty factory building located in the outskirts of Kafrnaha village in the western suburbs of Aleppo governorate, on January 17th, 2020.”
From their side, IdlibPlus said that towns and villages of western Aleppo were targeted with about 16 airstrikes on that day.
Step News Agency, Syrian Network for Human Rights, Edlib Media Center and Macro Media Center blamed Russia for this incident, while Shaam Network said both Russia and the Syrian regime were responsible.
The local time of the incident is unknown.
