I will write my novel under the title "My Martyr."

Around this time, Ali underwent a risky surgery and his condition was very critical. He remained in the hospital for a month. On this day, Ali asked the doctor to take him out of the hospital on his own, as his longing for his family, especially his daughters, had grown, and he didn't want them to worry.

After a while, his health deteriorated, and the inflammation quickly progressed to cirrhosis of the liver. I would often look at his face and say to him, “You, Abu Hassan, will not die in your sickbed, but God will grant you martyrdom because you are worthy of it.” I would repeat this constantly.

In our last week before the war began, he had a doctor's appointment at Hôtel-Dieu Hospital, and the doctor told him that the situation was unstable, and that this cirrhosis would eventually turn into cancerous lumps. Ali returned home, his secret in his heart, a radiant smile on his face, as if nothing had happened, but he hoped his life of jihad had not been in vain.


And indeed, the war began, and Abu Hassan al-Badr was the first whose martyrdom was announced among us, and the scent of musk was the most beautiful sign of the location of his body.

And so our story ended, and the martyr Ali departed, leaving me and his daughters alone.

Finally, praise be to God for all His blessings. May God grant us patience in your absence, O light of our eyes, and make us among those whom God watches over with His ever-watchful eye, as evidenced by His words: "And be patient for the judgment of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our sight."

سَأَكْتُبُ رِوَايَتِي بِعُنْوَانِ شَهِيدِي.

فِي مِثْلِ هَذِهِ الْأَيَّامِ، خَضَعَ عَلِيٌّ لِعَمَلِيَّةٍ جِرَاحِيَّةٍ خَطِرَةٍ وَكَانَ وَضْعُهُ حَرِجًا جِدًّا، وَبَقِيَ شَهْرًا فِي الْمُسْتَشْفَى. وَفِي مِثْلِ هَذَا الْيَوْمِ، طَلَبَ عَلِيٌّ مِنَ الطَّبِيبِ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ مِنَ الْمُسْتَشْفَى عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ الشَّخْصِيِّ، بَعْدَ أَنْ زَادَ شَوْقُهُ لِجَوِّ الْأُسْرَةِ وَخَاصَّةً بَنَاتِهِ، وَلِكَيْ لَا يَشْعُرُوا بِالْقَلَقِ.

وَبَعْدَ فَتْرَةٍ، تَأَزَّمَ وَضْعُهُ الصِّحِّيُّ وَتَحَوَّلَ الْاِلْتِهَابُ إِلَى تَشَمُّعِ كَبِدٍ بِشَكْلٍ سَرِيعٍ، وَكُنْتُ لِطَالَمَا أَنْظُرُ إِلَى وَجْهِهِ وَأَقُولُ لَهُ: “أَنْتَ يَا أَبَا حَسَنٍ لَنْ تَمُوتَ عَلَى فِرَاشِ الْمَرَضِ، لَكِنَّ اللَّهَ سَيَخُصُّكَ بِالشَّهَادَةِ لِأَنَّكَ أَهْلٌ لَهَا”، وَكُنْتُ أُكَرِّرُهَا دَائِمًا.

وَفِي آخِرِ أُسْبُوعٍ لَنَا قَبْلَ بَدْءِ الْحَرْبِ، كَانَ لَدَيْهِ مَوْعِدٌ عِنْدَ الطَّبِيبِ بِمُسْتَشْفَى أُوتِيل دِيُو، وَقَدْ أَخْبَرَهُ الطَّبِيبُ أَنَّ الْوَضْعَ لَيْسَ مُسْتَقِرًّا، وَأَنَّ هَذَا التَّشَمُّعَ بَعْدَ فَتْرَةٍ سَيَتَحَوَّلُ إِلَى كُتَلٍ سَرَطَانِيَّةٍ. وَعَادَ عَلِيٌّ إِلَى الْمَنْزِلِ، سِرُّهُ فِي قَلْبِهِ وَبِسْمَتُهُ تَمْلَأُ وَجْهَهُ النُّورَانِيَّ وَكَأَنَّ شَيْئًا لَمْ يَحْصُلْ، لَكِنَّهُ كَانَ يَتَمَنَّى أَنْ لَا يَذْهَبَ عُمُرُهُ الْجِهَادِيُّ هَبَاءً.

وَفِعْلًا بَدَأَتِ الْحَرْبُ، وَكَانَ أَبُو حَسَنٍ الْبَدْرَ الْأَوَّلَ الَّذِي سَطَعَ خَبَرُ شَهَادَتِهِ بَيْنَنَا، وَكَانَتْ رَائِحَةُ الْمِسْكِ الدَّلِيلَ الْأَجْمَلَ عَلَى مَكَانِ جُثْمَانِهِ.
وَهَكَذَا اِنْتَهَتْ قِصَّتُنَا، وَرَحَلَ الشَّهِيدُ عَلِيٌّ لِيَتْرُكَنَا أَنَا وَبَنَاتِهِ وَحِيدِينَ.

وَأَخِيرًا، الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَى جَمِيعِ نِعَمِهِ، وَجَعَلَنَا اللَّهُ مِنَ الصَّابِرِينَ عَلَى فِرَاقِكَ يَا نُورَ الْعَيْنِ، وَمِنَ الَّذِينَ يُخَصُّهُمُ اللَّهُ بِعَيْنِهِ الَّتِي لَا تَنَامُ، بِدَلِيلِ قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى: وَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا.
