“Minutes after they went to sea, the occupation’s gunboats fired shells at them, some of which fell into the sea and one hit their boat,” said fisherman Abu Aziz, who was at the Zawayda Sea in the central Gaza Strip. He noted that he was forced to suspend work and refrain from entering the sea. He added, “One of them tried to steer the boat back, and after a while, an ambulance came and took them to the hospital.” Six fishermen were in a small boat and sailed no more than 400 meters at the Zawayda Sea when they were shelled by the Israeli navy yesterday. Abu Aziz, who is in his forties, explained that after a series of explosions at sea, it was discovered that the six fishermen were injured and were transferred to a nearby clinic, then to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah. Their injuries were described as varying, except for one, which was classified as critical.

"بعد دقائق من نزولهم إلى البحر أطلقت زوارق الاحتلال الحربية عليهم قذائف، منها ما سقط بمياه البحر وواحدة أصابت قاربهم"، هكذا قال الصياد "أبو عزيز" الذي تواجد عند بحر الزوايدة وسط قطاع غزة، مشيراً إلى أنه اضطر إلى تعليق عمله والامتناع عن دخول البحر. وأضاف: "حاول أحدهم قيادة القارب والرجوع، وبعد شوي أجت سيارة الإسعاف ونقلتهم للمستشفى". يشار إلى أن ستة من الصيادين استقلوا قارباً صغيراً وأبحروا لمسافة لم تتعد 400 متر في بحر الزوايدة، عندما تعرضوا لقصف من بحرية الاحتلال، أمس. وأوضح "أبو عزير" في الأربعينيات من عمره، أنه وبعد سلسلة انفجارات في البحر تبيّن إصابة الصيادين الستة الذين نقلوا إلى عيادة قريبة، ثم إلى مستشفى شهداء الأقصى في دير البلح، ووصفت جروحهم بأنها متفاوتة، باستثناء واحدة صنفت بأنها خطيرة.
