The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, the deaths of 21 citizens, including 15 who died as a result of suffocation due to tear gas fired at the starving people and the subsequent stampede at the US aid distribution center (death traps), south of Khan Yunis, since dawn today.

The Ministry stated that this is the first time that deaths have been recorded due to suffocation and the intense stampede of citizens at aid distribution centers.

The Ministry stated that the Israeli occupation and the American establishment are deliberately committing massacres in a systematic manner and using various methods against the starving people.

Eyewitnesses said that as the distribution began, citizens rushed from long distances through a narrow passageway before US forces closed the gate and fired pepper gas, causing mass suffocation amid the intense crowding.

The Ministry of Health announced yesterday that the total number of people killed in the struggle for a living who arrived at hospitals had risen to 844, with more than 5,604 injured.

The martyrs who were killed while waiting for aid near the US aid center north of Rafah are:

أعلنت وزارة الصحة بغزة اليوم الأربعاء 16 يوليو 2025 ، عن استشهاد 21 مواطناً بينهم 15 شهيداً نتيجة الإختناق جراء اطلاق الغازات على المجوعين و التدافع الذي تلى ذلك  في مركز توزيع المساعدات الأمريكية ( مصائد الموت)،جنوب مدينة خانيونس منذ فجر اليوم.

وبينت الوزارة انه للمرة الأولى يتم تسجيل شهداء جراء الاختناق والتدافع الشديد للمواطنين في مراكز توزيع المساعدات.

وقالت الوزارة ان الاحتلال الإسرائيلي و المؤسسة الامريكية يتعمدان ارتكاب المجازر بطريقة ممنهحة و باساليب متنوعة بحق المجوعين .

وقال شهود عيان انه مع بدء التوزيع، اندفع المواطنون من مسافات بعيدة عبر ممر ضيّق، قبل أن تغلق القوات الأمريكية البوابة وتُطلق غاز الفلفل، ما تسبب بحالات اختناق جماعية وسط تزاحم شديد.

وكانت وزارة الصحة أعلنت بالامس عن ارتفاع إجمالي شهداء لقمة العيش ممن وصلوا المستشفيات إلى 844 شهيدًا وأكثر من 5,604 إصابة.
