Dr. Munir al-Barsh, director of the Ministry of Health in the Hamas-run Gaza Strip, stated on Twitter: "The home of Dr. Alaa al-Najjar's family was targeted by a missile just minutes after their father returned home," adding: "This is the reality our medical staff in the Gaza Strip is experiencing. Words are not enough to describe the pain. It is not only the health staff who are being targeted; entire families are being wiped out." Colleagues of the couple, as well as sources inside the hospital, confirmed that Dr. al-Najjar and her husband had no connection to Hamas. Eyewitnesses reported that the mother collapsed upon seeing her children's bodies upon arriving at the hospital. This tragedy comes amid ongoing Israeli airstrikes and artillery strikes on various areas of the Gaza Strip, which have killed and injured hundreds of civilians in recent days.
