Anadolu Agency quoted medical sources at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, as saying that the Israeli bombing resulted in the injury of photojournalist Sami Shehadeh, resulting in the amputation of his right foot and various wounds throughout his body. Meanwhile, TRT Arabic correspondent Sami Barhoum sustained minor injuries.

Activists circulated a video clip on social media of journalist Shehadeh after his foot was amputated, in which he pleads with the doctor to intervene, saying, "Please, doctor, put it back together... put some plating in and put it back together."

ونقلت وكالة "الأناضول" عن  مصادر طبية في مستشفى "شهداء الأقصى" بمدينة دير البلح وسط القطاع، قولها، إن القصف الإسرائيلي أسفر عن إصابة المصور الصحفي سامي شحادة أدى لبتر قدمه اليمنى وجروح متفرقة بأنحاء جسده، فيما أصيب سامي برهوم مراسل قناة "تي آر تي عربي" بجروح طفيفة. 

وتداول ناشطون عبر مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، مقطع فيديو للصحفي شحادة بعدما بترت قدمه، وهو يناشد الطبيب للتدخل قائلاً له: "أمانة دكتور ركبها.. حط بلاتين وركبها".
