Palestinian journalists Mustafa Thuraya and Hamza al-Dahdouh were killed on Sunday in an Israeli airstrike targeting a rest house for a group of journalists west of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip.

Hamza al-Dahdouh is the son of Al Jazeera journalist Wael al-Dahdouh, who lost his wife, son Mahmoud, 8-year-old daughter Sham, and grandson, son of the martyr Hamza, on the night of October 25th, following an airstrike that hit the house they had fled to in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

With the deaths of Mustafa Thuraya and Hamza al-Dahdouh, the number of journalists killed by Israeli fire rises to 109, in addition to 71 who were seriously injured.

The head of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, Nasser Abu Bakr, stated that what is happening in the Gaza Strip is the largest massacre in the history of media and against the media in the world in the shortest period of time, with more than 100 journalists killed, equivalent to 8.5 percent of the total number of journalists in the Strip.

He pointed out that the Syndicate is in contact with its lawyers, the International Federation of Journalists, and the British Federation of Journalists to prepare the legal file to file a complaint with the International Criminal Court. This is the third complaint.

He explained that since the first day of the aggression, the Syndicate decided to issue a report in Arabic, English, and French to be sent to international and Arab federations, unions, and media outlets. It also formed a crisis cell to communicate with the world about the ongoing military war against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the systematic targeting of journalists.

For its part, the Arab Journalists Union decided to mobilize all its resources with the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate and support its efforts in international courts at all levels.

The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate Condemns

The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate condemned the recent massacre carried out by the Israeli occupation forces against Palestinian journalists in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the martyrdom of journalist Hamza al-Dahdouh, son of journalist Wael al-Dahdouh, and journalist Mustafa Thuraya, following the bombing of the car they were traveling in.

In its statement, the Syndicate emphasized that these crimes against journalists, which have claimed the lives of 9 percent of Gaza's journalists, will not intimidate or terrorize journalists, but will rather increase their determination to continue reporting the truth about the occupation's crimes and the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

The Syndicate called on the International Criminal Court to open an investigation into the crimes targeting Palestinian journalists, noting that the occupation's impunity is a green light to continue its crimes.

استشهد الصحفيان الفلسطينيان مصطفى ثريا وحمزة الدحدوح، اليوم الأحد، في قصف صهيوني استهدف استراحة لمجموعة من الصحفيين، غرب خان يونس جنوبي قطاع غزة.

ويعدّ حمزة الدحدوح نجل صحفي قناة "الجزيرة" القطرية، وائل الدحدوح الذي سبق له أن فقد زوجته وابنه محمود وابنته شام البالغة من العمر 8 سنوات وحفيده ابن الشهيد حمزة ليلة الخامس والعشرين أكتوبر الماضي إثر غارة جوية أصابت المنزل الذي نزحوا إليه في مخيم النصيرات وسط قطاع غزة.

وباستشهاد مصطفى ثريا وحمزة الدحدوح، يرتفع عدد الصحفيين الذين قتلوا بنيران الكيان إلى 109، إلى جانب 71 أصيبوا بجروح خطيرة.

وقال نقيب الصحفيين الفلسطينيين، ناصر أبو بكر، أنّ ما يحدث في قطاع غزة، يعتبر أكبر مجزرة في تاريخ الإعلام وبحق الإعلام في العالم في أقصر فترة زمنية حيث استشهد أكثر من 100 صحفي أي ما يعادل 8.5 بالمائة من عدد الصحفيين في القطاع.

ولفت إلى أنّ النقابة تواصل مع محاميها والاتحاد الدولي والاتحاد البريطاني للصحفيين تحضير الملف القانوني لرفع شكوى للمحكمة الجنائية الدولية وهذه هي الشكوى الثالثة.

وبيّن أنّ النقابة منذ اليوم الأول للعدوان قررت إصدار تقرير باللغات العربية والإنجليزية والفرنسية لإرساله للاتحادات الدولية والعربية والنقابات ووسائل الإعلام، وشكلت خلية أزمة للتواصل مع العالم لأن هناك حربا عسكرية ضد الشعب الفلسطيني في غزة واستهدافا ممنهجا للصحفيين.

من جهته، قرّر اتحاد الصحفيين العرب وضع كافة إمكانياته مع نقابة الصحفيين الفلسطينيين ودعم تحركاتها في القضاء الدولي وعلى كل المستويات.

نقابة الصحفيين الفلسطينيين تدين

أدانت نقابة الصحفيين الفلسطينيين المجزرة الأخيرة التي نفذتها قوات الاحتلال الصهيوني ضد الصحفيين الفلسطينيين في قطاع غزة والتي أدت لاستشهاد الصحفي حمزة الدحدوح نجل الإعلامي وائل الدحدوح والصحفي مصطفى ثريا، إثر قصف السيارة التي كانا يستقلانها.

وشدّدت النقابة، في بيانها، على أنّ هذه الجرائم بحق الصحفيين التي راح ضحيتها 9 بالمائة من صحفيي غزة، لن ترعب الصحفيين ولن ترهبهم، بل ستزيدهم إصراراً على مواصلة نقل حقيقة اجرام الاحتلال وحرب الابادة الجماعية المتواصلة بحق الشعب الفلسطيني في قطاع غزة.

وطالبت المحكمة الجنائية الدولية بضرورة فتح التحقيق في جرائم استهداف الصحفيين الفلسطينيين مشيرة إلى أنّ إفلات الاحتلال من العقاب بمثابة ضوء أخضر لمواصلة جرائمه.
