The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Wednesday that 12 of its fighters and civilians were killed in Turkish airstrikes targeting the al-Shaddadi area, south of al-Hasakah.

In a statement, the SDF said, “In a new Turkish aggression against our areas, a squadron of Turkish warplanes and drones attacked several areas in the al-Ruwaished desert in the al-Shaddadi region, south of al-Hasakah, at 3:00 PM today.”

The statement explained that the airstrikes targeted an SDF military post, residential homes of civilian workers, and a civilian vehicle carrying shepherds on the al-Kharfi road connecting Deir ez-Zor and al-Hasakah.

The statement added that the Turkish air force carried out 16 airstrikes, resulting in the deaths of four SDF fighters, six civilian workers, and two shepherds.

The statement concluded by calling on “the international community to take a stand against these blatant attacks on Syrian territory.”

أعلنت قوات سوريا الديمقراطية، الأربعاء، فقدان 12 عنصراً من عناصرها ومدنيين لحياتهم بغارات جوية تركية استهدفت ناحية لشدادي جنوب الحسكة.



وقالت “قسد” في بيان لها، “في عدوان تركي جديد على مناطقنا، أغار سرب من الطائرات الحربية والمسيرة التركية، في تمام الساعة الثالثة من بعد ظهر اليوم على عدة مناطق في بادية الرويشد بمنطقة الشدادي، جنوبي الحسكة”.



وأوضحت أن الغارات استهدفت نقطة عسكرية لقواتها، ومنازل سكنية لعمال مدنيين، وسيارة مدنية كانت تقل رُعاة للغنم على طريق الخرافي الواصل بين دير الزور والحسكة.



وأضاف أن عدد الغارات التي شنها الطيران التركي بلغ 16 غارة جوية، ونتيجتها فقد أربعة من مقاتلي قسد حياتهم، وستة عمال مدنيين، وشخصين من رعاة الأغنام.



ودعت في نهاية البيان، “المجتمع الدولي إلى ابداء موقفهم تجاه هذه الاعتداءات الصريحة على الأراضي السورية”.
