The office said in a statement: "The number of martyred journalists has risen to 137 since the beginning of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, following the martyrdom of our colleague, journalist Abdul Wahab Awni Abu Aoun."

It explained that Abu Aoun "was a photojournalist who was martyred by the occupation's bombing of their home in the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza Strip."

وقال المكتب، في بيان: “ارتفاع عدد الشهداء الصحفيين إلى 137 صحفيا، منذ بدء حرب الإبادة الجماعية على قطاع غزة، وذلك بعد ارتقاء الزميل الصحفي الشهيد عبد الوهاب عوني أبو عون”.

وأوضح أن أبو عون “مصور صحفي استُشهد بقصف الاحتلال لمنزلهم بمخيم المغازي وسط قطاع غزة”.
