Journalist Maysara Salah succumbed to his wounds today, Sunday, after being shot by the Israeli occupation forces in the northern Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Media Forum mourned the death of journalist Maysara Salah, who worked for the Quds News Network.

The forum said in a press release on Sunday that Salah "ascended the path of freedom paved with blood and sacrifice, in support of the oppressed Palestinian people and conveying their suffering to the entire world."

The forum denounced the international silence and inability to protect Palestinian journalists and enable them to perform their professional duties in accordance with international law and humanitarian conventions, according to the statement.

Yesterday, Saturday, journalist Mamdouh Quneitah was killed after being targeted by an Israeli quadcopter in the courtyard of the Baptist Hospital south of Gaza City.

Salah's death brings the number of journalists killed by the occupation army to 192. 396 journalists have been injured, and 40 others, whose names have been known, have been arrested since October 7, 2023, according to data published by the Government Media Office.

Previously, the office called on the international community, international organizations, and those involved in journalism worldwide to deter the occupation, prosecute it in international courts for its ongoing crimes, and pressure it to halt the crime of genocide and the killing and assassination of Palestinian journalists.

استشهد الصحفي ميسرة صلاح، اليوم الأحد، متأثراً بجروحه بعد إصابته برصاص الاحتلال في شمال قطاع غزة.

ونعى منتدى الإعلاميين الفلسطينيين الصحفي ميسرة صلاح، الذي يعمل بشبكة قدس الإخبارية.

وقال المنتدى في بيان صحفي اليوم الأحد، إن “صلاح “ارتقى على درب الحرية المعبد بالدماء والتضحيات، وفي سبيل نصرة الشعب الفلسطيني المظلوم ونقل معاناته للعالم أجمع،”.


واستنكر المنتدى الصمت والعجز الدولي عن حماية الصحفيين الفلسطينيين وتمكينهم من أداء واجبهم المهني وفقا للقوانين الدولية والمواثيق الإنسانية، وفق البيان.

وأمس السبت، استشهد الصحفي ممدوح قنيطة، إثر استهدافه من قبل طائرة “كواد كابتر” الإسرائيلية في ساحة المستشفى المعمداني جنوبي مدينة غزة.

وباستشهاد “صلاح” يرتفع عدد الصحفيين الذين قتلهم جيش الاحتلال إلى 192 صحفياً وإعلامياً، فيما أصيب 396 صحفيا، واعتقل 40 آخرين ممن عرفت أسماؤهم منذ 7 أكتوبر 2023، وفق معطيات نشرها المكتب الإعلامي الحكومي.

وفي وقت سابق، طالب المكتب المجتمع الدولي والمنظمات الدولية وذات العلاقة بالعمل الصحفي في العالم إلى ردع الاحتلال وملاحقته في المحاكم الدولية على جرائمه المتواصلة والضغط عليه لوقف جريمة الإبادة الجماعية، ووقف جريمة قتل واغتيال الصحفيين الفلسطينيين.
