Ali Shamkhani, advisor to the leader and former secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, attended the funeral of the commanders of the Revolutionary Guard and those killed in the Israeli attacks in Tehran on Saturday, June 28. This is the first public appearance of Ali Khamenei's advisor since the Israeli missile attack on his residence on the first night of the war.
On Saturday, the Iranian state news agency also showed images of Mr. Shamkhani's destroyed house in the wake of the recent Israeli attacks on Tehran for the first time.

Initial reports after the Israeli attacks claimed that Mr. Shamkhani was killed at the moment Israel attacked his residence, while some other sources said that he survived and was seriously injured. Until last week, Mr. Shamkhani himself confirmed that he was alive, saying: “It was destined for me to remain with a wounded body, so I will remain to continue to be a reason for the enemy’s hostility.”
Before announcing the ceasefire on Tuesday, Israel claimed to have killed about 30 Iranian commanders and 11 nuclear scientists in 12 days, and had targeted eight facilities related to the nuclear program and more than 720 military infrastructure sites.

In his interview, Mr. Shamkhani said that with the killed commanders, “they had regular meetings and planned strategies and had predicted that Iran would be attacked.”
At the same time, he pointed to the rapid action in replacing the killed commanders with new ones, saying that these people were replaced in less than 12 hours, and stated that Iran’s retaliatory military operation against Israel was “not based on blind operations, but on pre-planned actions.”

He gave the interview in a coffee shop after the funeral of those killed in the Israeli attacks, saying his house had been destroyed and he had no office.
Stressing the importance of military capabilities, he added: "We must quickly change our capabilities and not be fooled by negotiations." He said: "Negotiations are not for agreement, but to prepare the country for protests."

He said: "We [the government] are obliged not to allow even a small difference between us and the Iranians due to misunderstanding or misbehavior. We must try to resolve any differences through the process of understanding."

"My chest was broken and I suffered mostly internal injuries," Shamkhani said while speaking through a ventilator for lung rehabilitation.

He added: "At first I thought it was an earthquake. Suddenly my room collapsed and I was under the rubble for three hours. I prayed my morning prayers there. Shortly after, when I heard the sound of cars and the humming, I realized that Israel had hit me.”
Shamkhani said that he had wanted to be killed three times so far, “before the revolution, during the Iran-Iraq war and during the Israeli attack.”

He also said that his son Hassan’s room upstairs had been razed to the ground. But he had “left the house 10 minutes earlier.”
Ali Shamkhani has five children, three of whom, Hassan, Hussein and Zeinab, have been named in various cases.

Shamkhani declined to say why he was targeted, but said: “Israel knows why it attacked me and so do I. But I can’t say anything.”

A senior figure in the Islamic Republic’s security establishment, he has previously served as commander of the navy, defense minister and secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. Shamkhani also heads the military’s Center for Strategic Studies and was once considered a possible presidential candidate.

علی شمخانی، مشاور رهبر و دبیر سابق شورای عالی امنیت ملی ایران روز شنبه هفتم تیر (۲۸ ژوئن) در مراسم خاکسپاری فرماندهان سپاه و کشته‌شدگان حملات اسرائيل در تهران حاضر شد. این نخستین حضور عمومی مشاور علی خامنه‌ای پس از حمله موشکی اسرائیل به محل اقامتش در شب اول جنگ است.
خبرگزاری صداوسیما نیز روز شنبه برای نخستین بار تصاویری از خانه تخریب‌شده آقای شمخانی در پی حملات اخیر اسرائیل به تهران را نشان داد.

گزارش‌های اولیه پس از حملات اسرائیل مدعی شده بودند که آقای شمخانی در لحظه حمله اسرائیل به محل اقامتش کشته شده، در حالی که برخی منابع دیگر گفته بودند او زنده مانده و به‌شدت زخمی شده است. تا اینکه هفته گذشته، آقای شمخانی خودش تأیید کرد که زنده مانده و گفت: «تقدیرآن بود که با تنی زخمی بمانم، پس می‌مانم تا همچنان دلیل دشمنی خصم باشم.»
اسرائیل تا پیش از اعلام آتش‌بس در روز سه‌شنبه، مدعی شد که طی ۱۲ روز حدود ۳۰ فرمانده ایرانی و ۱۱ دانشمند هسته‌ای را کشته و هشت مرکز مرتبط با برنامه هسته‌ای و بیش از ۷۲۰ سایت زیرساخت نظامی را هدف قرار داده است.

آقای شمخانی در مصاحبه خود در این رابطه گفت که با فرماندهان کشته شده «جلسات ثابتی داشته و راهبرد تنظیم می‌کردند و پیش‌بینی این را کرده بودند که به ایران حمله صورت می‌گیرد.»
وی در عین حال با اشاره به اقدام سریع در جایگزینی فرماندهان کشته شده با نفرات جدید گفت که این افراد ظرف کمتر از ۱۲ ساعت جایگزین شدند و اظهار داشت که عملیات‌ نظامی تلافی‌جویانه ایران علیه اسرائیل «مبتنی بر عملیات کور نبود، بلکه مبتنی بر اقدامات از پیش طراحی شده» بود.

وی این مصاحبه را در یک کافی‌شاپ بعد از مراسم تشییع کشته شدگان حملات اسرائیل انجام داد و گفت که خانه او تخریب شده و دفتر کار هم ندارد.
او با تأکید بر اهمیت توانمندی‌های نظامی افزود: باید توانمندی‌هایمان را به سرعت تغییر دهیم و فریب مذاکره را نخوریم. وی گفت: «مذاکره برای توافق نیست بلکه برای این است که شرایط کشور را آماده تحریک به منظور اعتراضات کنند.»


وی گفت: «ما [حاکمیت] موظفیم اجازه ندهیم اختلافی ولو کوچک ناشی از سو تفاهم یا رفتاری نادرست مابین ما و ایرانی‌ها ایجاد شود باید تلاش کنیم اگر اختلافی وجود دارد را در پروسه تفاهم حل کنیم.»

شمخانی در حالی که با دستگاه کمک‌تنفسی مخصوص بازتوانی ریه صحبت می‌کرد، گفت: «قفسه سینه‌ام شکسته و بیشتر آسیب‌های داخلی دیدم.»


او افزود: «اول فکر کردم زلزله است. ناگهان اتاق من فروریخت و من سه ساعت زیر آوار بودم. همانجا نماز صبحم را خوانم. کمی بعد که صدای ماشین‌ها و همهمه شنیدم متوجه شدم اسرائیل من را زد.»
شمخانی گفت تاکنون سه دفعه می‌خواستم کشته شوم، «قبل از انقلاب، در جنگ ایران و عراق و در حمله اسرائیل.»

وی همچنین گفت که اتاق پسرش به نام حسن در طبقه بالا با خاک یکسان شده است. اما او «۱۰ دقیقه قبل از خانه رفته بود بیرون.»
علی شمخانی صاحب ۵ فرزند است که نام سه فرزند او یعنی حسن، حسین و زینب تاکنون در پرونده‌های مختلف مطرح شده است.
علی شمخانی، مشاور علی خامنه‌ای که در جریان جنگ ۱۲ روزه اسرائیل علیه جمهوری اسلامی هدف حمله قرار گرفته بود، مدعی شد: «اسرائیلی‌ها من را زدند، چون پدر صاحبشان را درآوردم.»

او همچنین درباره شب حمله گفت: «اول فکر کردم زلزله است. ناگهان اتاق من فروریخت و من سه ساعت زیر آوار بودم. همان‌جا نماز صبحم را خواندم. کمی بعد که صدای ماشین‌ها و همهمه شنیدم، متوجه شدم اسرائیل من را زده.»
شمخانی از بیان دلیل هدف قرار گرفتن خود خودداری کرد، اما گفت: «اسرائیل می‌داند چرا به من حمله کرد و من هم می‌دانم. اما نمی‌توانم چیزی بگویم.»




او که یکی از چهره‌های ارشد در ساختار امنیتی جمهوری اسلامی است، پیش‌تر فرمانده نیروی دریایی، وزیر دفاع و دبیر شورای عالی امنیت ملی ایران بوده است. شمخانی همچنین ریاست مرکز مطالعات راهبردی ارتش را بر عهده داشته و زمانی نیز به‌عنوان یکی از گزینه‌های احتمالی ریاست‌جمهوری مطرح بود.
