Palestinian Territories – The Palestinian Center for the Protection of Journalists (PJPC) has issued an urgent appeal for the medical evacuation of injured Palestinian journalists in Gaza, particularly in the heinous crime committed by the Israeli occupation forces when they directly targeted the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis, killing five journalists and wounding others while performing their professional and humanitarian duties.

The center highlights that a number of journalists have sustained serious injuries that threaten their lives and professional futures. They are:

Journalist Mohammed Fayeq: He sustained severe injuries resulting in hemiplegia, which threatens to progress to complete paralysis if he does not receive urgent treatment abroad.

Journalist Jamal Badah (25 years old), a cameraman for Palestine TV: His right leg was amputated above the knee, in addition to shrapnel wounds throughout his body. He is in dire need of specialized treatment outside Gaza.

Journalist Hatem Omar (45 years old), a photojournalist: He was injured by shrapnel in the head and requires urgent medical care, which is unavailable in the beleaguered Gaza Strip. The Center affirms that the continued denial of medical evacuation for injured journalists constitutes a complex crime that adds to the occupation's record of targeting Palestinian journalists, who have paid a heavy price in lives and injuries in pursuit of revealing the truth to the world.

Therefore, we urgently appeal to the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), Reporters Without Borders (RSF), and all international media organizations and bodies concerned with press freedom to intervene immediately and urgently to ensure the evacuation of injured journalists in the Gaza Strip to receive the necessary treatment and save their lives before it is too late.

The Center emphasizes that the international community's silence in the face of these crimes encourages the occupation to continue its policy of targeting journalists and achieving impunity. It affirms that protecting journalists is an integral part of protecting the truth and exposing the ongoing war crimes against the Palestinian people.

الأراضي الفلسطينية – وجّه مركز حماية الصحفيين الفلسطينيين (PJPC) نداءً عاجلاً من أجل الإجلاء الطبي للصحفيين الفلسطينيين المصابين في غزة، ولا سيما في الجريمة البشعة التي ارتكبها جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي عبر استهدافه المباشر لمجمع ناصر الطبي في مدينة خانيونس، والذي أدى إلى مقتل خمسة صحفيين وإصابة آخرين بجروح أثناء تأديتهم واجبهم المهني والإنساني.

ويبرز المركز أن عدداً من الصحفيين تعرضوا لإصابات خطيرة تهدد حياتهم ومستقبلهم المهني، وهم:

الصحفي محمد فايق: أصيب بجروح بالغة نتج عنها شلل نصفي يهدد بالتحول إلى شلل كامل في حال لم يتلقَّ العلاج المناسب بشكل عاجل في الخارج.

الصحفي جمال بدح (25 عاماً) – مصوّر في تلفزيون فلسطين: تعرض لبتر في الساق اليمنى فوق الركبة، إضافة إلى إصابته بشظايا متفرقة في أنحاء جسده، وهو بحاجة ماسّة إلى علاج تخصصي خارج غزة.

الصحفي حاتم عمر (45 عاماً) – مصوّر صحفي: أصيب بشظايا في الرأس ويحتاج إلى رعاية طبية عاجلة لا تتوفر في قطاع غزة المنهك تحت الحصار.

ويؤكد المركز أن استمرار منع الإجلاء الطبي للصحفيين المصابين يمثل جريمة مركّبة تضاف إلى سجل الاحتلال في استهداف الصحفيين الفلسطينيين، الذين دفعوا ثمناً باهظاً من أرواحهم وإصاباتهم في سبيل كشف الحقيقة للعالم.

وعليه، فإننا نتوجه بنداء عاجل إلى: منظمة الصحة العالمية (WHO)، واللجنة الدولية للصليب الأحمر (ICRC)، والاتحاد الدولي للصحفيين (IFJ)، ولجنة حماية الصحفيين (CPJ) ومراسلون بلا حدود (RSF)، وكافة المؤسسات الإعلامية الدولية والهيئات المعنية بحرية الصحافة، من أجل التدخل الفوري والعاجل لضمان إجلاء الصحفيين المصابين في قطاع غزة لتلقي العلاج اللازم وإنقاذ حياتهم قبل فوات الأوان.

ويشدد المركز على أن صمت المجتمع الدولي أمام هذه الجرائم يشجع الاحتلال على المضي قدماً في سياسة استهداف الصحفيين والإفلات من العقاب، مؤكداً أن حماية الصحفيين جزء أصيل من حماية الحقيقة وفضح جرائم الحرب المستمرة بحق الشعب الفلسطيني.
