The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate mourns the loss of journalist Ahmed Anwar Al-Helou

Ramallah-Gaza – The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate mourns with deep sorrow the loss of journalist Ahmed Anwar Al-Helou (a correspondent for Quds News Network), who was killed along with his brother, Mohammed Al-Helou, in a brutal bombing carried out by Israeli occupation forces in northwest Khan Younis.

This crime comes just hours after the martyrdom of journalist Hassan Samour, who was killed along with members of his family when his home in Khan Younis was targeted. He worked for Al-Aqsa Radio.

The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate holds the Israeli occupation fully responsible for these heinous crimes, emphasizing that the continued targeting and cold-blooded killing of journalists is a systematic policy to silence the truth and suppress the Palestinian narrative. Cameras and pens have become direct targets for Israeli warplanes, in flagrant violation of all international and humanitarian laws.

The union called upon international institutions, the United Nations, and the Arab and International Federations of Journalists to take urgent and serious action to stop these massacres committed against journalists, and to hold the occupation accountable as a war criminal that persists in shedding Palestinian blood and continues to perpetrate its crimes against free speech and the honest voice.

رام الله- غزة- نعت نقابة الصحفيين الفلسطينيين بمزيد من الحزن، الزميل الصحفي أحمد أنور الحلو (مراسل شبكة قدس الإخبارية)، الذي ارتقى مع شقيقه محمد الحلو جراء قصف همجي نفذته قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي على شمال غرب خان يونس.

وتأتي هذه الجريمة ساعات فقط بعدما استشهد الزميل الصحفي حسن سمور، الذي ارتقى مع أفراد من عائلته إثر استهداف منزله في خان يونس، وكان يعمل في إذاعة صوت الأقصى.

وحملت نقابة الصحفيين الفلسطينيين، الاحتلال الإسرائيلي المسؤولية الكاملة عن هذه الجرائم البشعة، مؤكدة أن استمرار استهداف الصحفيين وقتلهم بدم بارد هو سياسة ممنهجة لإسكات الحقيقة وتغييب الرواية الفلسطينية. لقد تحولت الكاميرا والقلم إلى أهداف مباشرة لطائرات القتل الإسرائيلية، في انتهاك صارخ لكل القوانين الدولية والإنسانية.

ودعت النقابة المؤسسات الدولية والأمم المتحدة واتحاد الصحفيين العرب والدوليين إلى تحرك عاجل وجاد لوقف هذه المجازر المرتكبة بحق الصحفيين، والعمل على محاسبة الاحتلال كمجرم حرب يمعن في سفك الدم الفلسطيني، ويواصل تنفيذ جرائمه بحق الكلمة الحرة والصوت الصادق.
