Hamas: Israeli Bombing of School for Displaced People Continues 'Brutal War of Extermination'

The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, stated that "the criminal attack carried out by the fascist occupation army's warplanes on the Hamama School, which shelters thousands of displaced people in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City, demonstrates the terrorist occupation government's insistence on continuing its brutal war of extermination and defying all international values and laws by deliberately targeting civilians, including children, women, and the elderly."

In a statement received by Quds Press on Saturday, Hamas added that "the fascist occupation army continues its blatant lies, claiming to use civilian sites such as schools, hospitals, and displacement and shelter centers for military purposes, and uses these lies as a pretext to target defenseless civilians."

Hamas warned against "the continuation of this criminal policy through which the occupation seeks to kill, terrorize, and subjugate our people, forcing them to flee their land under the weight of massacres, destruction, and starvation."

It called on the international community to "take immediate action to expose its lies and hold it accountable for its horrific violations and crimes against humanity."

Israeli occupation forces carried out a direct attack on a school sheltering displaced people in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City, resulting in deaths and injuries. The bombardment of other areas in the besieged Gaza Strip continued on Saturday, while the Palestinian resistance reported fierce battles to repel incursions in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.

Our correspondent reported that at least 17 people were killed when the occupation forces bombed the Hamama School in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood. The new airstrikes completely destroyed the school, resulting in deaths and leaving several people missing under the rubble.

Since October 7th, the Israeli occupation army, with American and European support, has continued its aggression against the Gaza Strip. Its warplanes bomb the areas surrounding hospitals, buildings, towers, and the homes of Palestinian civilians, destroying them and burying their inhabitants alive. The army also prevents the entry of water, food, medicine, and fuel.

According to United Nations data, the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza has resulted in the deaths of 39,550 Palestinians, injuries to 91,280 others, and the displacement of 90% of the Strip's population.

قالت حركة المقاومة الإسلامية "حماس"، إن "الهجوم الإجرامي الذي نفّذته طائرات جيش الاحتلال الفاشي على مدرسة حمامة التي تؤوي آلاف النازحين بحي الشيخ رضوان بمدينة غزة، يُعَدٌّ إصراراً من حكومة الاحتلال الإرهابية على الاستمرار في حرب الإبادة الوحشية، وتحدّي كل منظومات القيَم والقوانين الدولية، بتعمّدها استهداف المدنيين من أطفال ونساء وشيوخ".
وأضافت في بيان تلقته "قدس برس"، اليوم السبت، أن "جيش الاحتلال الفاشي يواصل أكاذيبه المفضوحة التي يدعي من خلالها استخدام المواقع المدنية من مدارس ومستشفيات ومراكز نزوح وإيواء، لأغراض عسكرية، ويتخّذ من هذه الأكاذيب ذريعة لاستهداف المدنيين العزل".
وحذّرت "حماس" من "استمرار هذه السياسة الإجرامية التي يسعى الاحتلال من خلالها إلى قتل وإرهاب وإخضاع شعبنا ودفعه للهجرة عن أرضه، تحت وطأة المجازر والتدمير والتجويع".
ودعت المجتمع الدولي إلى "التحرّك العاجل، لفضح أكاذيبه، ومحاسبته على انتهاكاته الفظيعة وجرائمه ضد الإنسانية".
ونفذت قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي قصفا مباشرا على مدرسة تؤوي نازحين في حي الشيخ رضوان بمدينة غزة، ما أدى لسقوط شهداء وجرحى، كما استمر القصف على مناطق أخرى في القطاع المحاصر اليوم السبت، في حين قالت المقاومة الفلسطينية إنها تخوض معارك ضارية لصد توغلات في رفح جنوبي القطاع.
وأفاد مراسلنا باستشهاد 17 شخصا على الأقل إثر قصف الاحتلال مدرسة حمامة في حي الشيخ رضوان، وأن الغارات الجديدة دمرت المدرسة بالكامل وأدت إلى سقوط شهداء وفقدان عدد من الأشخاص تحت الأنقاض.
ويواصل جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي منذ السابع من تشرين الأول/أكتوبر الماضي، عدوانه على قطاع غزة، بمساندة أمريكية وأوروبية، حيث تقصف طائراته محيط المستشفيات والبنايات والأبراج ومنازل المدنيين الفلسطينيين وتدمرها فوق رؤوس ساكنيها، ويمنع دخول الماء والغذاء والدواء والوقود.
وأدى العدوان المستمر للاحتلال على غزة إلى استشهاد 39 ألفا و550 شهيدا، وإصابة 91 ألفا و280 آخرين، ونزوح 90% من سكان القطاع، بحسب بيانات منظمة الأمم المتحدة.
