Al Jazeera announced on Sunday evening the deaths of its correspondents in the Gaza Strip, Anas al-Sharif and Muhammad Qariqa, after the Israeli army targeted a journalists' tent at al-Shifa Hospital in northern Gaza.
The channel reported that the director of al-Shifa Hospital announced the deaths of al-Sharif and Qariqa after the bombing of the journalists' tent near the hospital's entrance.
It explained that al-Sharif and Qariqa had been tirelessly reporting the truth since the beginning of the war and were among the first journalists to arrive at the bombed areas to document the reality and the famine in the Gaza Strip.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation, with full US support, has continued its aggression against the Gaza Strip in a campaign internationally described as genocide, involving killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, despite the International Court of Justice's orders to cease operations and comply with international law.
The aggression left more than 213,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 9,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced people.

أعلنت قناة /الجزيرة/ القطرية، مساء الأحد، استشهاد مراسليها في قطاع غزة أنس الشريف ومحمد قريقع بعد استهداف جيش الاحتلال خيمة للصحفيين في مستشفى الشفاء شمالي قطاع غزة.
وقالت القناة إن مدير مستشفى الشفاء أعلن استشهاد الشريف وقريقع بعد قصف خيمة للصحفيين كانا فيها قرب بوابة المستشفى.
وأوضحت أن الشريف وقريقع لم يتوقفا منذ بداية الحرب عن نقل الحقيقة، وكانا من أول المراسلين الذي يحضرون إلى مناطق القصف لنقل الواقع وفصول المجاعة في القطاع.
ومنذ السابع من تشرين الأول/ أكتوبر 2023، يواصل الاحتلال الإسرائيلي وبدعم أمريكي مطلق عدوانه على قطاع غزة، في حملة وُصفت دوليًا بأنها إبادة جماعية، تتضمن القتل والتجويع والتدمير والتهجير، رغم أوامر محكمة العدل الدولية بوقف العمليات والامتثال للقانون الدولي.
وخلّف العدوان أكثر من 213 ألف فلسطيني بين شهيد وجريح معظمهم أطفال ونساء، وما يزيد على 9 آلاف مفقود، بجانب مئات آلاف النازحين.
