Palestinian Civil Defense teams recovered the remains of journalist Marwa Muslim's family and those of her two brothers, Moataz and Montaser, 44 days after the home of journalist Marwa Muslim was bombed in the Gaza Strip.

Marwa's body was found under the rubble of her home in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood east of Gaza City, after the building was completely destroyed by Israeli shelling.

Local sources reported that the occupation forces prevented civil defense and ambulance teams from reaching the site, leaving her trapped under the rubble until she succumbed to her wounds.

With her death, Marwa joins a long list of journalists who have lost their lives while covering Israel's war of extermination on the Gaza Strip, which has been ongoing for nearly two years.

Marwa Muslim was one of the most prominent media voices in the Gaza Strip. She worked for the local Al-Shabab Radio, presenting social and humanitarian radio programs, such as the morning show "Bisharat Al-Sabah" and "That," which addressed the issues of the people in the besieged Strip.

Since the outbreak of the war on October 7, 2023, Marwa has refused to leave the northern Gaza Strip, insisting on remaining in her home with her family, like many Palestinians who have refused to comply with the forced displacement orders imposed by the occupation forces.

تمكنت فرق الدفاع المدني الفلسطينية، بعد 44 يوماً من استهداف منزل عائلة الصحافية مروة مسلم في قطاع غزة، من انتشال ما تبقى من جثمانها وجثماني شقيقيها معتز ومنتصر.

وتم العثور على جثمان مروة تحت أنقاض منزلها في حي الشجاعية شرق مدينة غزة، بعد أن دمر القصف الإسرائيلي المنزل بالكامل.

وأفادت مصادر محلية بأن قوات الاحتلال منعت فرق الدفاع المدني والإسعاف من الوصول إلى الموقع، ما أدى إلى بقائها تحت الركام حتى فارقت الحياة متأثرة بجراحها.



باستشهادها، تنضم مروة إلى قائمة طويلة من الصحافيين الذين فقدوا حياتهم أثناء تغطيتهم لحرب الإبادة التي تشنها إسرائيل على قطاع غزة، منذ نحو عامين.

كانت مروة مسلم إحدى الأصوات الإعلامية البارزة في قطاع غزة، حيث عملت في إذاعة “الشباب” المحلية، وقدمت برامج إذاعية اجتماعية وإنسانية، مثل البرنامج الصباحي “بشائر الصباح” وبرنامج “ذات”، التي لامست قضايا الناس في القطاع المحاصر.

ومنذ اندلاع الحرب في 7 أكتوبر 2023، رفضت مروة مغادرة شمال قطاع غزة، متمسكة بالبقاء في منزلها إلى جانب عائلتها، مثلها مثل العديد من الفلسطينيين الذين رفضوا الانصياع لأوامر التهجير القسري التي تمارسها قوات الاحتلال.
