On January 24, the British channel ITV News documented a new crime committed by the Israeli army against unarmed civilians. Its forces targeted a Palestinian named Ramzi Abu Sahloul, who was waving a white flag, killing him instantly. For its part, the occupation army disavowed this crime, documented in audio and video, and claimed that the video recording was fabricated. It also accused the British channel of promoting Hamas propaganda. The Al Arabiya team verified the details of the incident and documented a new war crime among the crimes committed by the occupation against civilians in Gaza. Al Arabiya began its investigation with an interview conducted by photographer Mahmoud Abu Safia, who works for the British channel, minutes before the targeting of the unarmed Palestinian. The channel stated that the martyr's name was Ramzi Abu Sahloul, and that he was conducting an interview with ITV about his attempt to return to the area from which he was displaced to rescue his mother and brother. By searching for him on social media, Al-Arabi confirmed the martyr's identity through a post by his son mourning his father, accompanied by a photo. The facial features matched the person appearing in the video documentation of the incident. As for the location of the incident, Al-Arabi's investigation was able to identify it by comparing landmarks visible in the video, specifically the logo of the neighboring building, which, according to the results of its analysis, belongs to Al-Aqsa University in the Gaza Strip. The building's features are similar to those seen in the videos of the incident. The crime scene, therefore, Al-Arabi was able to confirm that the crime occurred on Al-Bahr Street, on the northern side of the Al-Aqsa University building in the Al-Mawasi area in the southern Gaza Strip. To determine the timing of the crime, the Al-Arabi team studied the shadows appearing in the video, as the shadow of the column appears in one of the shots to be approximately twice the length of the column. By applying these results to the SunCalc tool, Al-Arabi found that the approximate time of this incident was approximately 3:45 p.m. local time.

وثقت عدسة القناة البريطانية "آي تي في نيوز" في 24 يناير/ كانون الثاني، جريمة جديدة ارتكبها الجيش الإسرائيلي بحق المدنيين العزل، حيث أقدمت قواته على استهداف فلسطيني يدعى رمزي أبو سحلول كان يرفع الراية البيضاء، ما أدى إلى استشهاده على الفور. من جانبه، تنصل جيش الاحتلال من هذه الجريمة الموثقة بالصوت والصورة، وزعم أن التسجيل المصور مفبرك، كما اتهم القناة البريطانية بالترويج للدعاية الإعلامية لحركة حماس. بدوره، تحقق فريق "العربي" من تفاصيل الواقعة، ووثق جريمة حرب جديدة ضمن الجرائم التي يشنها الاحتلال على المدنيين في غزة. وبدأ "العربي" تحقيقه بالمقابلة التي أجراها المصور محمود أبو صفية الذي يعمل لحساب القناة البريطانية، قبل دقائق من استهداف الفلسطيني الأعزل. الشهيد رمزي أبو سحلول وذكرت القناة أن الشهيد يدعى رمزي أبو سحلول، وكان يجري مقابلة مع "آي تي في" حول محاولته العودة إلى المنطقة التي نزح منها لإنقاذ والدته وأخيه. بالبحث عنه عبر مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، تأكد "العربي" من هوية الشهيد من خلال منشور لابنه ينعى أباه مرفقًا بصورة، وكانت معالم الوجه مطابقة للشخص الذي ظهر في المقطع التوثيقي للحادثة. أما عن مكان الواقعة فقد تمكن تحقيق "العربي" من تحديده من خلال مقارنة المعالم الظاهرة بالفيديو، وبالأخص شعار المبنى المجاور الذي يعود بحسب نتائج تحليله إلى جامعة الأقصى القائمة في قطاع غزة، حيث تتشابه معالم المبنى مع المعالم الظاهرة في مقاطع الحادثة. موقع الجريمة وبالتالي تمكن "العربي" من تأكيد وقوع الجريمة عند شارع البحر في الجهة الشمالية لمبنى جامعة الأقصى في منطقة المواصي جنوبي قطاع غزة. ولتحديد توقيت الجريمة، قام فريق "العربي" بدراسة الظلال الظاهرة في الفيديو، حيث يظهر ظل العمود في إحدى اللقطات يساوي ضعفي طول العمود تقريبًا. وبتطبيق هذه النتائج على أداة SunCalc، وجد "العربي"، أن التوقيت التقريبي لهذه الحادثة هو حوالي الثالثة إلا ربعًا بالتوقيت المحلي.
