The Associated Press quoted US officials as saying that US and Iraqi forces launched a joint raid targeting suspected ISIS militants in the western desert of the country, resulting in the death of at least 15 people and the wounding of 7 US soldiers in the operation. The US Central Command said that the suspects were armed with various weapons, hand grenades, and suicide belts during the attack, which took place last Thursday and which Iraqi forces said occurred in the Anbar desert in western Iraq.
