Published On 11/9/2025 | Last updated: 16:10 (Mecca Time) Qatar held funeral prayers today, Thursday, in the capital, Doha, for the martyrs of the unprecedented Israeli attack that targeted residential buildings in Doha last Tuesday. The funeral was attended by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The Ministry of Interior had previously stated in a statement that the funeral prayers would be held after the afternoon prayer on Thursday, September 11, at the Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque, and the martyrs would be buried in the Mesaimeer Cemetery. Israel targeted residential buildings in Doha with a missile attack on Tuesday, where a number of members of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) resided. Hamas stated that its senior officials survived, while five of its members were killed, in addition to a member of the Qatari security forces. The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, participated in the funeral prayers for the martyrs of the Israeli bombing (Al Jazeera). Hamas clarified that the martyrs were Humam, the son of the movement's chief negotiator, Khalil al-Hayya, and his office director, Jihad. Labad, along with his companions Ahmed Mamlouk, Abdullah Abdul Wahid, and Mo'men Hassoun, were killed. Corporal Badr Saad Mohammed Al-Humaidi Al-Dosari, a member of the Qatari Internal Security Forces, was also killed in the attack. In an interview with CNN on Wednesday, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said, "I have no words to express how angry we are about this Israeli attack, which was state terrorism." He explained that Netanyahu "is trying to give legal lectures while he himself is violating international law and starving the Gaza Strip," stressing that Netanyahu must be brought to justice, as he is already wanted by the International Criminal Court. He pointed out that Netanyahu is threatening other countries in the region, which have posed no threat to him, emphasizing that a response from the region is being discussed with partners, and expressing his hope that this response will be "real and capable of stopping Israel's bullying." The Prime Minister considered the attack to have ended all hope regarding the prisoners in Gaza, confirming that Qatar is "reassessing everything" about its role as a key mediator in the talks between Israel and Hamas. Doha had previously hosted several rounds of negotiations. Numerous indirect negotiations have taken place between the two sides, and the movement's political bureau has been hosted in Qatar since 2012 with the blessing of Washington, which sought to maintain a channel of communication with the movement.
