The Government Media Office in Gaza announced on Friday that the number of martyred journalists had risen to 202 with the martyrdom of journalist Omar al-Diraoui.

In a statement, the Government Media Office condemned in the strongest terms the targeting and killing of Palestinian journalists by the Israeli occupation forces, calling on the International Federation of Journalists, the Federation of Arab Journalists, and all journalistic bodies worldwide to condemn these systematic crimes against Palestinian journalists and media professionals in the Gaza Strip.

It also held the Israeli occupation forces, the US administration, and countries complicit in the crime of genocide, such as Britain, Germany, and France, fully responsible for committing this heinous and brutal crime.

He called on the international community, international organizations, and organizations concerned with journalistic and media work in all countries of the world to condemn the crimes of the occupation, deter it, and prosecute it in international courts for its ongoing crimes, and to bring the criminals of the occupation to justice. He also called on them to exert serious and effective pressure to stop the crime of genocide, to protect journalists and media professionals in Palestine in general, and in the Gaza Strip in particular, and to stop the crime of killing them.

وأدان المكتب الإعلامي الحكومي في بيان له، بأشد العبارات استهداف وقتل الاحتلال الإسرائيلي للصحافيين الفلسطينيين، داعياً الاتحاد الدولي للصحافيين، واتحاد الصحافيين العرب، وكل الأجسام الصحافية في كل دول العالم إلى إدانة هذه الجرائم الممنهجة ضد الصحافيين والإعلاميين الفلسطينيين في قطاع غزة.

كما وحمّل الاحتلال الإسرائيلي والإدارة الأميركية والدول المشاركة في جريمة الإبادة الجماعية مثل بريطانيا، وألمانيا، وفرنسا، المسؤولية الكاملة عن ارتكاب هذه الجريمة النكراء الوحشية.


وطالب المجتمع الدولي والمنظمات الدولية والمنظمات ذات العلاقة بالعمل الصحافي والإعلامي في كل دول العالم بإدانة جرائم الاحتلال وردعه وملاحقته في المحاكم الدولية على جرائمه المتواصلة وتقديم مجرمي الاحتلال للعدالة، كما وطالبهم  بممارسة الضغط بشكل جدي وفاعل لوقف جريمة الإبادة الجماعية، ولحماية الصحافيين والإعلاميين في فلسطين عامة، وفي قطاع غزة خاصة، ووقف جريمة قتلهم.
