The Israeli army announced on Saturday the elimination of Qassam Brigades commander Salah al-Din al-Zaghra, who served as deputy commander of Hamas's Al-Furqan Battalion, in an airstrike.
According to the Hebrew newspaper Maariv, al-Zaghra was responsible for planning and executing armed attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers inside the Gaza Strip.

This came as the Israeli army continued its military operations in the Gaza Strip over the weekend, announcing the targeting of more than 130 targets across the Strip as part of what it described as "efforts to eliminate Hamas's infrastructure."
The newspaper explained that forces from the 99th Division continued their operations in central and northern Gaza, focusing on uncovering and destroying tunnels and underground facilities, while forces from the Nahal Brigade carried out direct bombardment operations that resulted in the deaths of a number of militants.
In the same context, the 162nd Division in the northern Gaza Strip pursued Hamas operatives and destroyed their infrastructure. During one mission, forces from the 401st Brigade spotted four Hamas militants, and a drone was directed to bomb and kill them.
In the southern Gaza Strip, forces from the Gaza Division (143) and the 36th Division continued their ground operations, targeting tunnels and buildings used as military sites for weapons storage or as launching points for attacks against the army, according to the same source.

وبحسب صحيفة "معاريف" العبرية، فإن الزغرة كان مسؤولًا عن التخطيط وتنفيذ عمليات مسلحة ضد المدنيين الإسرائيليين والجنود داخل القطاع.

وجاء ذلك في الوقت الذي يواصل فيه الجيش الإسرائيلي عملياته العسكرية في قطاع غزة خلال عطلة نهاية الأسبوع، معلنًا عن استهداف أكثر من 130 هدفًا في أنحاء متفرقة من القطاع، وذلك في إطار ما وصفه بـ"جهود القضاء على البنية التحتية لتنظيم حماس".
وأوضحت الصحيفة أن قوات فرقة 99 واصلت عملياتها في وسط وشمال غزة، وتركّزت على كشف وتدمير أنفاق ومنشآت تحت الأرض، فيما نفذت قوات لواء ناحال عمليات قصف مباشرة أسفرت عن مقتل عدد من المسلحين.
وفي السياق ذاته، عملت فرقة 162 في شمال القطاع على ملاحقة عناصر حماس وتدمير البنية التحتية التابعة لها. وخلال إحدى المهام، رصدت قوات اللواء 401 أربعة مسلحين من حماس، وتم توجيه طائرة مسيّرة قصفتهم وقتلتهم.
أما في جنوب القطاع، فواصلت فرقة غزة (143) وقوات الفرقة 36 عملياتها البرية، مستهدفة أنفاقًا ومبانيَ استخدمت كمواقع عسكرية لتخزين الأسلحة أو كنقاط انطلاق لهجمات ضد الجيش، وفقا للمصدر ذاته.
