To my right lies the esteemed martyr, Mo'men Aliwa, Al Jazeera's field cameraman, an icon of diligence and meticulous attention to detail. A young man whose features reflected a blend of intelligence and dignity, and whose smile radiated a light that dispelled the darkness of war. He held his camera as a warrior holds his rifle, venturing into dangerous arenas to wrest the truth from amidst the flames and rubble. In the few moments of silence, he would come to me to confide his burdens, a lover of wisdom, certain of the value of advice, and a listener of unparalleled depth. I would jokingly call him "Engineer," and he would respond with a broad smile, as if it were an unbreakable bond of friendship. Mo'men was martyred alongside his colleagues, reporters Mohammed Qariqa and Anas Al-Sharif, and other dear colleagues, leaving his brother Mahmoud to my left, his eyes bearing a silent pain and the story of a brother whose name has become an indelible mark on the memory of Gaza.
