The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate mourns the loss of colleague Ibrahim Hajjaj

The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate mourns the loss of photojournalist Ibrahim Hajjaj, who was killed today in a direct Israeli airstrike in the al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza while documenting the occupation's crimes.

The Syndicate stated that with the martyrdom of colleague Hajjaj, the number of journalists killed in the Israeli occupation's war of extermination has risen to 232.

The Syndicate asserts that targeting Hajjaj and other journalists is a systematic policy of extrajudicial killings aimed at silencing the voice of Palestinian truth and intimidating media professionals.

We hold the occupation fully responsible for this crime and call on the international community to take immediate action to protect journalists and hold the perpetrators accountable.

Gaza – The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate mourned the loss of photojournalist Ibrahim Mahmoud Hajjaj, who was killed on Wednesday in a direct Israeli airstrike on the Al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City while documenting the occupation's crimes.

In a statement, the Syndicate confirmed that with the death of Hajjaj, the number of journalists killed in the Israeli occupation's war of extermination has risen to 232.

The Syndicate considered the targeting of Hajjaj and other journalists to be a systematic policy of extrajudicial killings aimed at silencing the voice of Palestinian truth and intimidating media professionals. The Syndicate holds the occupation fully responsible for this crime and calls on the international community to take immediate action to protect journalists and hold the perpetrators accountable.

In closing, the Syndicate affirmed that Hajjaj's message will live on despite all attempts at killing and intimidation.

تنعى نقابة الصحفيين الفلسطينيين الزميل المصوّر الصحفي إبراهيم حجاج، الذي استشهد اليوم بقصف إسرائيلي مباشر في حي الدرج بغزة أثناء توثيقه جرائم الاحتلال.
وادت نقابة الصحفيين الفلسطينيين انه باستشهاد الزميل حجاج يرتفع عدد الزميلات والزملاء الصحفيين الذين استشهدوا في حرب الابادة التي يشنها الاحتلال الاسرائيلي الي 232 صحفيا وعاملا في المؤسسات الاعلامية.
وتعبر النقابة استهداف حجاج وغيره من الصحفيين هو سياسة إعدام ميداني ممنهجة تهدف لكتم صوت الحقيقة الفلسطينية وترهيب الإعلاميين.
كما نحمّل الاحتلال المسؤولية الكاملة عن هذه الجريمة، وندعو المجتمع الدولي للتحرك فوراً لحماية الصحفيين ومحاسبة القتلة.
ونؤكد للعالم ان رسالة الزميل حجاج وحقيقة شعبنا ستبقى حية رغم كل محاولات القتل والترهيب.

وأكدت النقابة في بيان لها، أنه باستشهاد الزميل حجاج يرتفع عدد الزميلات والزملاء الصحفيين الذين استشهدوا في حرب الابادة التي يشنها الاحتلال الاسرائيلي إلى 232 صحفيا وعاملا في المؤسسات الإعلامية.
واعتبرت النقابة استهداف حجاج وغيره من الصحفيين هو سياسة إعدام ميداني ممنهجة تهدف لكتم صوت الحقيقة الفلسطينية وترهيب الإعلاميين، كما تحمّل النقابة الاحتلال المسؤولية الكاملة عن هذه الجريمة، وتدعو المجتمع الدولي للتحرك فوراً لحماية الصحفيين ومحاسبة القتلة.
