This is martyr Abdullah Amer... carrying the camera of photographer Hossam Al-Masry.
Abdullah was the first to arrive at the site of the initial attack.
He climbed the stairs with broken steps and a trembling heart. He reached his comrade first... and found him a martyr. The camera, which had been capturing the truth, had become a silent witness to the crime.
He picked it up from the blood and held it up to the world, like a banner that should never be lowered.
Only moments passed before the Civil Defense team arrived, along with the journalists who had come only to document the crime, and so it was their fate to be added to its record.
They joined Hossam, their lenses joining the rubble of the betrayed truth.
Live on air, the camera was killed.
But the image will not die...

‏كان عبد الله أول الواصلين لمكان الاستهداف الأول،
‏صعد الدرج بخطى منكسرة وقلب يرتجف، وصل أولاً إلى رفيقه.. وجده ش… ه.يدًا، والكاميرا التي كانت ترصد الحقيقة تحوّلت إلى شاهدٍ صامتٍ على الجريمة.
‏التقطها من بين الدماء، رفعها أمام العالم، كأنها راية لا تُنكّس.
‏لم تمضِ سوى لحظات حتى وصل فريق الدفاع المدني، ومعهم الصحفيون الذين لم يأتوا إلا لتوثيق الجريمة، فكان نصيبهم أن يُضافوا إلى سجلها..
‏التحقوا بحسام، وانضمت عدساتهم إلى ركام الحقيقة المغدورة.
‏على الهواء مباشرة، قُتلت الكاميرا.
‏لكنّ الصورة لن تموت…
