* Statement issued by the General Directorate of Police: * The General Directorate of Police condemns the Israeli occupation's assassination of the Director of the Beit Hanoun Police Station in the northern Gaza Strip, Lieutenant Colonel Zaher Ayman Alian, in an airstrike in the Qalibu area, north of the Strip, this morning. The General Directorate of Police mourns Lieutenant Colonel "Alian" and affirms that it will continue to carry out its duty to support citizens in light of the raging war of extermination against our people, and that the repeated targeting by the occupation of police leaders and personnel will not push us to retreat from continuing to perform our duty. The General Directorate of Police renews its appeal to the international community and relevant institutions to urgently intervene and pressure the occupation to stop targeting the police force, as it is a civil protection force protected under international law.
