Rural Damascus Governorate: International Coalition forces carried out their first airdrop operation in the area between al-Dumayr and al-Qalamoun in Rural Damascus. The operation lasted for hours, with the site surrounded by Internal Security Forces affiliated with the Ministry of Defense, and was accompanied by intensive aerial activity.

The operation resulted in the arrest of former ISIS leader Ahmed Abdullah al-Masoud al-Badri, who had returned to the area after the fall of the regime. There are reports of ISIS members killed and wounded.

The operation came after officials from the Syrian Interim Government visited the targeted individual at his residence last September, where he appeared alongside the Deputy Governor of Rural Damascus.

Previously, on September 19, International Coalition forces conducted an airdrop operation in the village of al-Jurayjisah in southern Hama countryside, coinciding with a security alert by Internal Security Forces in the area.

According to local sources, the operation lasted for more than two hours, accompanied by heavy aerial activity in the area.

The operation resulted in the death of a man who had previously been imprisoned in Roumieh Prison in Lebanon before being handed over by Lebanese authorities to the ousted regime, where he remained in detention until its fall. Several other people sustained injuries of varying severity during the exchange of fire. Sources reported that the deceased was suspected of belonging to the Islamic State group.

محافظة ريف دمشق: نفذت قوات التحالف الدولي أول عملية إنزال جوي في المنطقة الواقعة بين الضمير والقلمون بريف دمشق، استمرت لساعات وسط تطويق الموقع بمشاركة قوات الأمن الداخلي التابعة لوزارة الدفاع، وترافق ذلك مع تحليق مكثف للطيران.
وأسفرت العملية عن اعتقال القيادي السابق في تنظيم “الدولة الإسلامية”، أحمد عبدالله المسعود البدري، الذي عاد إلى المنطقة بعد سقوط النظام الفار، وسط معلومات عن وجود قتيل ومصاب من أفراد “التنظيم”.
وجاءت العملية بعد زيارة مسؤولين في الحكومة السورية الانتقالية للشخص المستهدف في مضافته في أيلول الماضي، حيث ظهر إلى جانب نائب محافظ ريف دمشق.
وسبق لقوات التحالف الدولي في 19 أيلول الماضي أن نفّذت عملية إنزال جوي في قرية الجريجسة بريف حماة الجنوبي، تزامناً مع استنفار أمني لقوات الأمن الداخلي في المنطقة.
ووفقًا لمصادر محلية، فقد استمرت العملية يومئذ أكثر من ساعتين، رافقها تحليق مكثف للطيران في أجواء المنطقة.
وأسفرت العملية عن مقتل شخص كان قد سُجن سابقًا في سجن رومية بلبنان، قبل أن تسلّمه السلطات اللبنانية إلى النظام الفار، حيث بقي رهن الاحتجاز إلى يوم سقوط النظام. كما أصيب عدد من الأشخاص بجروح متفاوتة أثناء إطلاق النار خلال العملية. وأفادت المصادر أن القتيل يُشتبه بانتمائه إلى تنظيم “الدولة الإسلامية”.
