Karhouk resists… and Mahmoud al-Halil’s blood bears witness to the heroism of the Jazeera region.

Karhouk, a village in the al-Ya’rubiyah countryside of al-Hasakah, was not the first village stormed by the SDF, but it was the first to say: Enough!

They stormed the village at dawn under the pretext of arresting two wanted men (Ali and Alaa al-Halil). As usual, they raided homes without any respect, terrorizing women and children, thinking that the residents would remain silent as others had.

But this time, they encountered men who know no submission, a courageous father named Mahmoud al-Halil al-Shammari, who stood against them, defending his home and family. He earned the honor of heroism and martyrdom, after inflicting several injuries—and some say even deaths—on the attackers before ascending to his Lord, facing the enemy without turning his back.

The clash continued for hours, and neighboring villages mobilized to support Karhouk, while the SDF rushed to request reinforcements, terrified by the unexpected level of resistance. The “Sanadid” intervened to stop the fighting, and an agreement was reached for the family of the martyr Mahmoud al-Halil and his children to leave for a safe place in the village of Tal Alu. Thus, a bloody chapter of the SDF’s crimes was closed, and a new chapter of dignity, written in blood, was opened.

This incident was not merely a passing clash, but a cry from the Jazeera region declaring:

“We will no longer remain silent in the face of insults and violations… and whoever storms the homes of the free will leave defeated.”

The SDF, accustomed to terrorizing people, was surprised by men who do not fear death, but rather seek it with honor in defense of their dignity and honor.

May God have mercy on the martyr Mahmoud al-Halil, for he taught the militia a lesson in manhood and proved that there are men in the Jazeera region who are not intimidated by militias nor frightened by guns.

كرهوك تقاوم… ودمُ محمود الهليل شاهدٌ على بطولات الجزيرة
لم تكن قرية كرهوك في ريف اليعربية بالحسكة أول قريةٍ تقتحمها “قسد”، لكنها كانت الأولى التي قالت: كفى!
اقتحموا القرية فجراً بحجة القبض على مطلوبَين (علي وعلاء الهليل)، وكعادتهم داهموا البيوت بلا حرمة، وروعوا النساء والأطفال، ظنًّا منهم أن الأهالي سيصمتون كما صمت غيرهم.
لكنهم هذه المرة اصطدموا برجالٍ لا يعرفون الخنوع، بأبٍ شجاعٍ اسمه محمود الهليل الشمري، وقف في وجههم مدافعاً عن بيته وأهله، فكان له شرف البطولة والشهادة، بعدما أوقع في صفوف المهاجمين عدداً من الجرحى – بل وقيل قتلى – قبل أن يرتقي إلى ربه مقبلاً غير مدبر.
استمر الاشتباك لساعاتٍ، واستنفرت القرى المجاورة استعداداً لمساندة كرهـوك، فيما هرعت “قسد” تطلب التعزيزات مذعورةً من حجم المقاومة التي لم تتوقعها.
تدخّلت “الصناديد” لوقف القتال، وتم الاتفاق على خروج عائلة الشهيد محمود الهليل وأبنائه إلى مكانٍ آمن في قرية تل علو، لتطوى صفحةٌ دامية من صفحات الإجرام القسدي، وتُفتح صفحةُ كرامةٍ جديدة كتبها الدم.
هذه الحادثة لم تكن مجرد اشتباكٍ عابر، بل صرخة من الجزيرة تقول:
"لن نسكت بعد اليوم على الإهانات والانتهاكات… ومن يقتحم بيوت الأحرار، سيخرج منها مهزوماً."
قسد التي تعوّدت أن تروّع الناس، فوجئت برجالٍ لا يخافون الموت، بل يطلبونه بشرفٍ دفاعاً عن العرض والكرامة.
رحم الله الشهيد محمود الهليل، فقد لقّن الميليشيا درساً في الرجولة، وأثبت أن في الجزيرة رجالاً لا تُرهبهم الميليشيات ولا تُخيفهم البنادق.
كرهوك اليوم قالتها بصوتٍ عالٍ:
"الكرامة لا تُقتحم، والحرية لا تُغتصب، ومن يظلم أهلنا… سيُهزم على أعتاب بيوتنا."
