My pen is accustomed to writing and my letters have written elegies for many friends and loved ones, but since yesterday dawn my pen has not been able to elegize my younger brother Ahmed Abu Jamal. I do not know if it is an inability to express myself or a weakness in the ability to write, as I have never dared to write such writing before Ahmed and those like Ahmed who is more than ten years younger than me, but he was racing me in all fields as if he was a son of my generation and my companion.. اعتاد قلمي على الكتابة وخطت حروف كلماتي رثاء الكثير من الأصدقاء والأحباب
لكن ومنذ فجر الأمس لم يقوى قلمي على رثاء أخي الأصغر أحمد أبو جمال
لا أعرف أهو عجز في التعبير أو ضعف في القدرة على الكتابة، فمثل هذه الكتابة لم أتجرأ على كتابتها من قبل
أحمد ومن مثل أحمد الذي يصغرني بأكثر من عشر سنوات ولكنه كان يسابقني في كل الميادين وكأنه ابن جيلي ورفيق دربي ..
أحمد الشجاع الحافظ لكتاب الله الذي يخوض في كل مكان ليترك أثراً طيباً وعلماً نافعاً من خلفه.
نعم سبقني أحمد في إصابته وكان نعم الرجل الصابر المحتسب ، سبقني في حفظ القرآن وتعليم الأشبال، سبقني في طموحه الذي لا يتوقف رغم فقدانه قدميه وهمته التي لا يوقفها أحد .
