Hamas condemned the Israeli occupation army's assassination of a group of journalists in the Gaza Strip, including Al Jazeera correspondents Anas al-Sharif and Muhammad Qariqa, cameramen Ibrahim Daher and Mu'min Aliwa, and cameraman's assistant Muhammad Nawfal, following an airstrike that targeted the journalists' tent in the courtyard of al-Shifa Hospital in western Gaza. The movement affirmed that Anas al-Sharif was an example of a free journalist who exposed the occupation's crimes and the scenes of starvation it imposes on the residents of the Gaza Strip, noting that the occupation has killed 232 journalists to date in the largest targeting of journalists in any war.

The movement stressed that targeting journalists in Gaza is an organized act of terrorism and a message aimed at silencing the media and preventing the exposure of the genocide. It affirmed that the occupation's repeated threats against journalists have translated into a horrific killing operation reflecting its fascist nature. The movement considered this escalation to be aimed at paving the way for massacres against the people of Gaza, away from the eyes of the world, amidst international silence that encourages the occupation to continue its crimes.

أدانت حركة حمـ ـاس اغتـ ـيال جيش الاحتـ ـلال الإسرائيلي لمجموعة من الصحفيين في قطاع غـ ـزة، بينهم مراسلا قناة الجزيرة أنس الشريف ومحمد قريقع، والمصوران إبراهيم ظاهر ومؤمن عليوة، ومساعد المصور محمد نوفل، إثر غارة استـ ـهدفت خيمة الصحفيين في باحة مستشفى الشفاء غرب غـ ـزة. وأكدت الحركة أن أنس الشريف كان مثالاً للصحفي الحر الذي كشف جـ ـرائم الاحتـ ـلال ومشاهد المجاعة التي يفرضها على سكان القطاع، مشيرة إلى أن الاحتـ ـلال قـ ـتل حتى الآن 232 صحفياً في أكبر عملية استـ ـهداف للصحفيين في أي حرب.
وشددت الحركة على أن استـ ـهداف الصحفيين في غـ ـزة هو جـ ـريمة إرهـ ـاب منظمة ورسالة تهدف لإسكات الإعلام وكشف حقيقة الإبـ ـادة، مؤكدة أن تهديدات الاحتـ ـلال المتكررة ضد الصحفيين، تُرجمت إلى عملية قـ ـتل بشعة تعكس طبيعته الفـ ـاشية. واعتبرت أن هذا التصعيد يهدف لتمهيد الطريق لارتكاب مجـ ـازر بحق سكان غـ ـزة بعيداً عن أعين العالم، وسط صمت دولي يشجع الاحتـ ـلال على المضي في جـ ـرائمه.
