An 80-year-old woman was killed and two of her children were injured in a Turkish artillery shelling that targeted the village of Zaydiya in the Zirgan district this morning.

According to a resident of the village who spoke to Radio Arta, the shelling caused significant damage to the family's home and another house in the village. The injured were transferred to the Martyr Khabat Hospital in the city of Darbasiyah for treatment.

The village of Zaydiya is located 7 km east of Zirgan and 30 km south of Darbasiyah, and is one of the areas that has witnessed frequent tensions recently.

استشهدت امرأة مسنة تبلغ من العمر 80 عاماً، وأُصيب اثنان من أبنائها، جراء قصف مدفعي تركي استهدف، صباح اليوم، قرية زيدية التابعة لمنطقة زركان.
ووفقاً لما أكده أحد أهالي القرية لراديو آرتا، فقد أسفر القصف عن أضرار كبيرة في منزل العائلة ومنزل آخر في القرية. وتم نقل المصابين إلى مشفى الشهيد خبات في مدينة الدرباسية لتلقي العلاج.
تقع قرية زيدية على بعد 7 كم شرق زركان و30 كم جنوب الدرباسية، وهي من المناطق التي تشهد توترات متكررة في الآونة الأخيرة.
