With deep anger and sadness, we strongly condemn the killing of our colleague Fadi Alwadiya in an attack that targeted Gaza City this morning. The attack claimed the lives of Fadi and five other people, including three children. Fadi was killed as he rode his bicycle to work near the Doctors Without Borders (MSF) clinic where he was providing care. Fadi was a 33-year-old father of three and a physiotherapist. He joined MSF in 2018. We offer our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time. Fadi is the sixth MSF worker killed in Gaza since October 7, 2023. “Killing a healthcare worker on his way to provide vital medical care to victims of the endless massacres in Gaza is beyond shocking,” says Caroline Seguin, MSF’s operations manager for Palestine. “This is a cynical and abhorrent reality.” This is yet another brutal example of the senseless killing of Palestinian civilians and healthcare workers in Gaza.
