In a corner of the exhausted homeland, journalist friend Islam Muqdad planted hope in her eyes despite the wounds, cradling her little Adam as if she were embracing her entire life. She was a mother groaning with longing, awaiting her daughter, who had departed with her father for treatment after being struck by a bombing. Every night, she wiped away her tears with the patience of prophets and whispered, "We will meet soon, my little one." But war makes no promises, nor does it spare a mother's heart. The bombing came in the morning, and this time, it left no trace of waiting. Islam and her little Adam were both martyred, concluding the story with blood and longing. The narrative was extinguished in the embrace of pain, and the little girl remained alone, an orphan of a story, carrying her mother's name and history in her heart. في زاوية من الوطن المُنهك، كانت الصديقة الصحفية إسلام مقداد تزرع الأمل في عينيها رغم الجراح، وتحتضن صغيرها آدم كأنها تحتضن الحياة كلها.
كانت أمًّا تئن شوقًا، تنتظر طفلتها التي رحلت مع والدها للعلاج بعد أن نال منها القصف، وكانت كل ليلة تمسح دموعها بصبر الأنبياء وتهمس: “سنلتقي قريبًا يا صغيرتي.”
لكن الحرب لا تمنح وعودًا، ولا تُمهل قلوب الأمهات. جاء القصف صباحاً ، وهذه المرّة لم يترك خلفه انتظارًا.
ارتقت إسلام، وارتقى صغيرها آدم، ختما القصة بدمٍ وحنين، وانطفأت الرواية في حضن الألم، وبقيت الصغيرة وحدها، يتيمة الحكاية، تحمل إسم أمّها وتاريخها في قلبها.
رحلت إسلام… وتركَت خلفها وجعًا لا يُروى.
