May God have mercy on our colleague, journalist, and friend, Mamdouh Quneita. He was martyred by a bullet to the head in the hospital courtyard!

I was preparing for a live broadcast when I heard the gunshot nearby. I turned around to find everyone around me running. Someone shouted, "Mamdouh is martyred!"

Just like that, in the blink of an eye, or even less!

I stood by his head in the reception area as he breathed his last, helpless and bound. There was nothing I could do!

I was in shock. To myself, I said, "May God have mercy on you, Abu Khalil. You are at peace now. Blessed are you!"

رحم الله الزميل الصحفي والصديق ممدوح قنيطة ..
استشهد بطلقة في رأسه .. في ساحة المستشفى!
كنت أتجهز للبث المباشر وسمعتُ صوت الطلقة قريباً .. التفتُ فإذا كل من حولي يجري.. أحدهم صرخ .. ممدوح استشهد!
هكذا في طرفة عين أو أقل!!
وقفتُ عند رأسه في قسم الاستقبال وهو يلفظ أنفاسه الأخيرة ..
عاجزاً مُكبلاً .. فما باليد حيلة!
مصدوماً ..
بيني وبين نفسي .. أقول .. الله يرحمك يا ابو خليل .. ارتحت .. نيالك !
