Hajj Hassan from Kfar Rumman

The upcoming elections are a pledge to Sayyed Nasrallah and the martyrs of the resistance… and seeking foreign support is a violation of sovereignty

MP Dr. Hussein Hajj Hassan, a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, affirmed that there is an international, regional, and local effort aimed at amending the current election law in Lebanon to enable expatriates around the world to elect all 128 members of Parliament. He stressed that this approach will not succeed because it infringes upon Lebanon's sovereignty and allows foreign interference in its national decisions.

During a speech at the memorial ceremony for the martyred engineers Ahmed Saad and Mustafa Rizk, organized by Hezbollah in the town of Kfar Rumman, with the participation of the head of the Jabal Amel II region, Hajj Ali Daoun, as well as other dignitaries, religious scholars, and a large crowd of residents, Hajj Hassan explained that the current law is clear and explicit, stipulating that expatriates elect only six members to represent them in Parliament. He added that the 2022 elections allowed them to vote for all 128 members of Parliament for one exceptional and final time. He pointed out that the aim of attempting to amend the law is to allow Western countries, especially the United States, an ally and supporter of the Zionist enemy, to influence the election results through expatriate votes. He considered this a form of foreign interference and a violation of national sovereignty. He said, "There will be no real freedom for either the voter or the candidate abroad because the decision will be subject to the will of the countries hosting them, not the will of the Lebanese themselves. We refuse to allow Lebanon to become an open arena for foreign interference, and we insist that the elections must be held on schedule according to the existing law."

He added, "We want the upcoming elections to be as stipulated by the current law: 128 members of parliament elected by residents of Lebanon and 6 members elected by expatriates after their official registration on the electoral rolls. This is the fair formula that preserves sovereignty and protects national decision-making." Hajj Hassan spoke about the importance of the upcoming parliamentary elections, saying: “Some have described them as existential elections, and we say yes, they are a crucial juncture where we will make our voices heard clearly, just as we did in the last municipal elections. We, along with the National Amal Movement and our allies from various parties, movements, figures, and national organizations, will participate with full force. We will mobilize a large turnout, and the theme of these elections will be: ‘A pledge to His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and to all the martyrs of the Resistance.’”

Hajj Hassan then turned to the upcoming cabinet session, emphasizing the necessity for the government to include on its agenda the assassination of the two martyred engineers, Ahmed Saad and Mustafa Rizk, who were working on reconstruction projects when they were killed by the Zionist enemy. He asked: “Doesn’t the blood of these martyrs deserve to have their case discussed like any other issue? The government must prove that it is a state responsible for its citizens, not one preoccupied with secondary matters and turning a blind eye to the enemy’s crimes against the Lebanese people.” Hajj Hassan concluded by emphasizing that Hezbollah remains strong and steadfast despite all the targeting, saying: “We in Hezbollah are a real force in this country. We have received harsh blows and recovered from them, and today we are stronger than ever. There will be no discussion about the resistance’s weapons before the enemy withdraws, the aggression stops, the prisoners are released, reconstruction begins, and an effective national defense strategy is approved that preserves Lebanon, its security, and its sovereignty.”

أكد عضو كتلة الوفاء للمقاومة النائب الدكتور حسين الحاج حسن أنّ هناك مسعى دولياً وإقليمياً ومحلياً يهدف إلى تعديل قانون الانتخابات النافذ في لبنان حتى يتمكن المغتربون المنتشرون في العالم من انتخاب كامل أعضاء مجلس النواب الـ128، مشدداً على أنّ هذا التوجّه لن يمرّ لأنه يمسّ بسيادة لبنان ويتيح التدخل الخارجي في قراراته الوطنية.
وأوضح الحاج حسن خلال كلمةٍ له في الحفل التكريمي للشهيدين المهندسين أحمد سعد ومصطفى رزق الذي نظمه حزب الله في بلدة كفررمان بمشاركة مسؤول منطقة جبل عامل الثانية الحاج علي ضعون وفعاليات وشخصيات ، علماء دين وحشد من الأهالي
أنّ القانون الحالي واضح وصريح إذ ينصّ على أن المغتربين ينتخبون ستة أعضاء فقط يمثلونهم في مجلس النواب مضيفاً أن انتخابات عام 2022 سمحت لهم بالتصويت للـ128 نائباً لمرة واحدة استثنائية وأخيرة.
وأشار إلى أنّ الهدف من محاولة تعديل القانون هو إتاحة المجال أمام الدول الغربية وعلى رأسها الولايات المتحدة الأميركية الحليف والداعم للعدو الصهيوني للتأثير في نتائج الانتخابات من خلال أصوات المغتربين معتبراً أنّ ذلك استقواء بالخارج وتفريطٌ بالسيادة الوطنية، وقال: لن تكون هناك حرية حقيقية لا للناخب ولا للمرشح في الخارج لأن القرار سيكون مرهوناً بإرادة الدول التي تحتضنهم وليس بإرادة اللبنانيين أنفسهم ونحن نرفض أن يكون لبنان ساحةً مفتوحة لتدخلات الخارج ونؤكد أن الانتخابات يجب أن تجرى في موعدها على أساس القانون النافذ.
وأضاف: نريد الانتخابات القادمة أن تكون كما نصّ عليه القانون الحالي 128 نائباً ينتخبهم المقيمون في لبنان و6 أعضاء ينتخبهم المغتربون بعد تسجيلهم رسمياً في القوائم الانتخابية هذه هي الصيغة العادلة التي تحفظ السيادة وتحمي القرار الوطني.
وتحدث الحاج حسن عن أهمية الانتخابات النيابية المقبلة قائلاً: هناك من وصفها بأنها انتخابات وجودية، ونحن نقول نعم، هي محطة أساسية سنقول فيها كلمتنا بوضوح، كما قلناها في الانتخابات البلدية الأخيرة وسنشارك بكل قوة نحن والثنائي الوطني وحلفاؤنا من أحزاب وتيارات وشخصيات وفعاليات وطنية وسنحشد لها حشداً كبيراً وعنوان هذه الانتخابات سيكون: العهد لسماحة السيد حسن نصر الله ولشهداء المقاومة جميعاً.
وانتقل الحاج حسن للحديث عن جلسة الحكومة المرتقبة مشدداً على ضرورة أن تدرج الحكومة على جدول أعمالها قضية اغتيال الشهيدين المهندسين أحمد سعد ومصطفى رزق اللذين كانا يعملان في إعادة الإعمار واغتالهما العدو الصهيوني قائلاً: ألا تستحق دماء هؤلاء الشهداء أن تُناقش قضيتهم كما تُناقش القضايا الأخرى؟ على الحكومة أن تُثبت أنها دولة مسؤولة عن مواطنيها، لا أن تنشغل بقضايا ثانوية وتتغاضى عن جرائم العدو بحق اللبنانيين.
وختم الحاج حسن بالتأكيد على أنّ حزب الله باقٍ وقويٌّ رغم كل الاستهدافات قائلاً: "نحن في حزب الله قوة حقيقية في هذا الوطن تلقّينا ضربات قاسية وتعافينا منها ونحن اليوم أقوى من أي وقت مضى لا نقاش في سلاح المقاومة قبل انسحاب العدو ووقف العدوان وإطلاق الأسرى وبدء إعادة الإعمار وإقرار استراتيجية وطنية دفاعية فاعلة تحفظ لبنان وأمنه وسيادته.
