Sputnik photographer Abdelkader Albay says, "The enemy wanted to target us because we are journalists, because they don't want any of us to document their defeat and their hiding in houses." He adds, "Since the beginning of the war, the enemy has not respected any international conventions, and until the last moment, they continue to violate them."

يقول مصوّر وكالة "سبوتنيك" الروسية، عبد القادر الباي إنّ "العدو أراد استهدافنا كوننا صحافيين، لأنّهم لا يريدون لأحد منّا أن يوثق هزيمتهم واختباءهم في المنازل"، ويضيف أنّ "العدو منذ بداية الحرب لا يقيم اعتبارا لأيّ من المواثيق الدولية وهو حتّى اللّحظة الأخيرة يمعن في خرقها".
