Palestinian Journalists Syndicate: The occupation committed a new horrific massacre against the Palestinian press, adding to its criminal record.
Gaza - The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate mourned, on Monday, the five martyred journalists who were killed in a horrific massacre perpetrated by the occupation forces following a bombing that targeted the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis. This brings the number of martyred journalists and media workers to 245.
The Syndicate said in a statement: "In a new crime added to the bloody record of the Israeli occupation, embodying its clear intent to target the free voice, the witnessing camera, and the knights of the word, the occupation army committed a horrific massacre against Palestinian media crews, claiming the lives of five fellow journalists who were martyred while carrying out their professional duty in covering the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip." The statement continued: "With hearts filled with pain and anger, the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate mourns five of the finest knights of the word, who were targeted in cold blood while performing their professional and humanitarian mission. The martyrs of truth have ascended:
Martyr journalist/Hossam Al-Masry - photographer for Palestine TV and Reuters News Agency.
Martyr journalist/Mohammed Salama - photographer for Al Jazeera Channel.
Martyr journalist/Maryam Abu Daqqa - journalist who worked with Independent Arabia and AP News Agency.
Martyr journalist/Moaz Abu Taha - journalist for the American NBC network."
Martyr journalist/Ahmed Abu Aziz - a journalist with several local media outlets, in addition to his work as a correspondent with Tunisian Radio (Diwan FM).
A number of fellow journalists were also injured during the massacre, including photojournalist Hatem Omar (who worked for Reuters and several other media outlets), and photojournalist Jamal Badah with Palestine Today TV. The Syndicate affirmed that this heinous crime represents a dangerous escalation in the direct and deliberate targeting of Palestinian journalists. It confirms, without a shadow of a doubt, that the occupation is waging an open war on free media, with the aim of terrorizing journalists and preventing them from fulfilling their professional mission of exposing its crimes to the world.
The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate holds the Israeli occupation fully responsible for this crime and demands that its leaders be held accountable as war criminals. It called on international media institutions to break their silence and take urgent action to protect Palestinian journalists who are targeted daily in the field.
It called on the international community, the United Nations, and the International Federation of Journalists to move from verbal condemnation to taking practical and deterrent steps to halt the systematic killing machine against journalists in Gaza.
The Syndicate affirmed that the continued international silence on these crimes represents unacceptable complicity and partnership in the shedding of innocent blood. We, at the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, affirm that we will pursue all those involved in these crimes. We will not remain silent, and we will not forgive. In concluding its statement, the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate offered its sincere condolences to the families and relatives of the martyrs, and to the entire Palestinian press community, affirming that their sacrifices will not be in vain, that their message will live on, and that their voices will remain a witness to the crime.

نقابة الصحفيين الفلسطينيين: الاحتلال ارتكب مجزرة مروعة جديدة بحق الصحافة الفلسطينية تضاف لسجله الإجرامي
غزة- نعت نقابة الصحفيين الفلسطينيين، اليوم الإثنين، 5 شهداء صحفيين ارتقوا خلال مجزرة مروعة ارتكبها الاحتلال جراء قصف استهدف مجمع ناصر الطبي في خانيونس، ليرتفع بذلك عدد الشهداء الصحفيين والعاملين في قطاع الاعلام إلى 245 شهيدا.
وقالت النقابة في بيان لها: "في جريمة جديدة تضاف إلى سجل الاحتلال الإسرائيلي الدموي، وتجسد تعمده الواضح لاستهداف الصوت الحر والكاميرا الشاهدة وفرسان الكلمة، ارتكب جيش الاحتلال مجزرة مروعة بحق طواقم إعلامية فلسطينية، راح ضحيتها خمسة من الزملاء الصحفيين الذين استشهدوا أثناء قيامهم بواجبهم المهني في تغطية العدوان المتواصل على قطاع غزة".
وتابع البيان: "بقلوب يعتصرها الألم والغضب، تنعى نقابة الصحفيين الفلسطينيين خمسة من خيرة فرسان الكلمة، الذين استهدفوا بدم بارد أثناء تأدية رسالتهم المهنية والإنسانية، وقد ارتقى شهداء الحقيقة:
الشهيد الصحفي/ حسام المصري– مصور تلفزيون فلسطين ووكالة رويترز للأنباء.
الشهيد الصحفي/ محمد سلامة- مصور قناة الجزيرة.
الشهيدة الصحفية/ مريم أبو دقة– صحفية عملت مع اندبندنت عربية و وكالة AP.
الشهيد الصحفي/ معاذ أبو طه – صحفي شبكة NBC الأمريكية".
الشهيد الصحفي / أحمد ابو عزيز _ مراسل صحفي مع عدد من وسائل إعلامية محلية اضافة الى عمله مراسل مع الاذاعة التونسية (ديوان اف ام).
كما أصيب خلال المجزرة عدد من الزملاء الصحفيين من بينهم الزميل المصور الصحفي حاتم عمر (يعمل لصالح رويترز وعدد من الوسائل الاعلامية)، والمصور الصحفي جمال بدح مع قناة فلسطين اليوم الفضائية.
وأكدت النقابة إن هذه الجريمة النكراء تمثل تصعيدا خطيرا في استهداف الصحفيين الفلسطينيين بشكل مباشر ومتعمد، وتؤكد بلا أدنى شك أن الاحتلال يمارس حربا مفتوحة على الإعلام الحر، بهدف ترويع الصحفيين ومنعهم من أداء رسالتهم المهنية في فضح جرائمه أمام العالم.
وحملت نقابة الصحفيين الفلسطينيين، الاحتلال الإسرائيلي المسؤولية الكاملة عن هذه الجريمة، وتطالب بمحاسبة قادته كمجرمي حرب، داعية المؤسسات الإعلامية الدولية إلى كسر صمتها، والتحرك العاجل لحماية الصحفيين الفلسطينيين الذين يستهدفون يوميا في الميدان.
وطالبت المجتمع الدولي، والأمم المتحدة، والاتحاد الدولي للصحفيين بالانتقال من مربع الإدانة اللفظية إلى اتخاذ خطوات عملية ورادعة توقف آلة القتل الممنهجة بحق الصحفيين في غزة.
وأكدت النقابة أن استمرار الصمت الدولي على هذه الجرائم يمثل تواطؤا مرفوضا وشراكة في سفك دماء الأبرياء، ونؤكد في نقابة الصحفيين الفلسطينيين أننا سنلاحق كل من تورط في هذه الجرائم، ولن نصمت، ولن نغفر.
وفي ختام بيانها، تقدمت نقابة الصحفيين الفلسطينيين بخالص العزاء والمواساة إلى أسر الشهداء وذويهم، وإلى الأسرة الصحفية الفلسطينية كافة، مؤكدة أن تضحياتهم لن تذهب سدى، وأن رسالتهم ستظل حية، وصوتهم سيبقى شاهدا على الجريمة.
