He refused to leave… and was martyred just as he lived proudly. Hajj Abu Nidal Abu Odeh refused to leave his city, Gaza, despite the bombing and siege, and chose to remain a guardian of the memory of his three martyred sons. Today, Hajj Abu Nidal ascended as a martyr in the sea of Gaza, while striving to provide a livelihood for his grandchildren, the sons of the martyrs, leaving just as he lived: generous, patient, and standing firm despite all the wounds. He was martyred while sailing in search of what would satisfy the hunger of those who remained, writing the end of a man who did not bow down, nor leave.
