The wife of the martyr Anas al-Sharif:

Whenever Anas sat with Sham, he would simply tell her, “The Jews want to take me away from you, they might kill me…”
It was as if he was preparing her for his departure, as if his heart sensed it.

And Sham, with all her childlike innocence, would hug him and say, “No, Papa, stay with me… I want to kill them so they don’t kill you.”

Anas saw martyrdom as the path to conveying the truth, preparing his little girl for it.

زوجة الشهيد أنس الشريف:
كان أنس، كل ما جلس مع شام، يحكي لها ببساطة
“اليـ ـهود بدهم يبعدوني عنك، يمكن يمـ ـوّتوني…”
وكأنه كان بيمهّد لها غيابه، وكأن قلبه كان حاسس.
وشام، بكل طفولتها، كانت تحتضنه وتقول:
“لا يا بابا، خليك عندي… أنا بدي أمـ ـوّتهم علشان ما يمـ ـوّتوك.”
أنس كان يرى الشهـ|دة في طريقِ نقل الحقيقة، ممهدًا ذلك لطفلته الصغيرة..
