The photo is of the child “Adam”, the only survivor of Dr. Alaa Al-Najjar’s ten children, and beside him is his honorable aunt. He lies between life and death, silence has fallen over his white bed after the voices of his nine siblings were extinguished forever. As for his father, Dr. Hamdi, Dr. Alaa’s husband, he is fighting death in a bloody coma. It is worth noting that Dr. Alaa Al-Najjar, her husband, and their children are all Egyptian citizens, and their families had pleaded with them at the beginning of the war to return to Egypt and save themselves… but they chose to stand firm in the dignity of the wounded, to support the wounded, and to be a balm for the injured. They chose the battlefield instead of refuge, and steadfastness instead of survival. We believe that they were truthful to God, and God was truthful with them. O God, comfort her heart, immerse them in Your mercy, and make them all among the people of the highest paradise, without reckoning or previous torment.

الصورة للطفل “آدم”، الناجي الوحيد من أبناء الدكتورة آلاء النجار العشر وإلى جانبه خالته الكريمة.، يرقد بين الحياة والموت، وقد خيّم الصمت على سريره الأبيض بعد أن أُطفئت أصوات إخوته التسع إلى الأبد. أما والده د. حمدي، زوج الدكتورة آلاء، فيُصارع الموت في غيبوبة دامية. مع العلم ان الدكتورة آلاء النجار، وزوجها، وأبناؤهم، جميعهم من حملة الجنسية المصرية، وقد ناشدهم أهلهم في بداية الحرب أن يعودوا إلى مصر، وأن ينجوا بأنفسهم… لكنهم اختاروا أن يثبتوا في عْزة الجريحة، وأن يكونوا سندًا للجرحى، وبلسمًا للمصابين. اختاروا الميدان بدل الملاذ، والرباط بدل النجاة. نحسبهم صدقوا الله، فصدقهم الله. اللهم اربط على قلبها، واغمرهم برحمتك، واجعلهم جميعًا من أهل الفردوس الأعلى، بلا حساب ولا سابقة عذاب.
