Yesterday (Thursday), Wael Abu Fanouneh, the deputy head of the Islamic Jihad media network, was killed in an airstrike carried out by the Israeli Air Force under the direction of Military Intelligence and the General Security Service.

Wael Abu Fanouneh served as deputy head of the Islamic Jihad media network. As part of his position, he previously served as an assistant to Khalil al-Bahtini, the commander of the Islamic Jihad's northern Gaza Strip region. He was then promoted to the position in 2017 to become deputy head of the organization's media network.
Abu Fanouneh was responsible for disseminating videos issued by the terrorist organization regarding rocket attacks on Israeli territory and for producing and disseminating videos of kidnapped individuals as part of the psychological warfare waged by terrorist organizations in Gaza against Israeli citizens.

أمس (الخميس) تم القضاء على وائل أبو فنونة، نائب رئيس المنظومة الإعلامية التابعة لمنظمة الجهاد الإسلامي، في غارة شنها سلاح الجو بتوجيه من هيئة الاستخبارات العسكرية وجهاز الامن العام.

حيث كان وائل أبو فنونة يتولى وظيفة نائب رئيس المنظومة الإعلامية التابعة لمنظمة الجهاد الإسلامي. وفي إطار وظيفته، عمل سابقًا مساعدًا لخليل البهتيني، قائد منطقة شمال القطاع لدى الجهاد الإسلامي، ثم تمت ترقيته اعتبارًا من عام 2017 لتولي وظيفة نائب رئيس المنظومة الإعلامية التابعة للمنظمة.
وكان أبو فنونة مسؤولاً عن نشر مقاطع الفيديو الصادرة عن المنظمة الإرهابية فيما يتعلق بالرشقات الصاروخية باتجاه الأراضي الإسرائيلية وإنتاج ونشر مقاطع فيديو لمخطوفين كجزء من الحرب النفسية التي تشنها المنظمات الإرهابية في غزة ضد مواطني إسرائيل.
