Erbil (Kurdistan24) – Iraqi warplanes bombed ISIS hideouts in Kirkuk province on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

Local media outlets reported that Iraqi warplanes carried out airstrikes on ISIS positions in Mount Bur, within Kirkuk province.

The Iraqi air force periodically conducts airstrikes targeting ISIS hideouts in various parts of the country.

On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani congratulated the Iraqi people on the killing of the so-called "governor of Iraq" for the ISIS terrorist organization.

In a statement, al-Sudani said, "I congratulate our noble people on the killing of the so-called 'governor of Iraq' for the ISIS terrorist organization, along with eight senior leaders of the organization, in the heroic and precise operation carried out by the Counter-Terrorism Service and National Security, under the supervision of the Joint Operations Command, which targeted the terrorists' hideouts in the Hamrin Mountains." The Joint Operations Command stated in a press release today that the operation was conducted "with technical support and precise intelligence sharing from the International Coalition forces at dawn today." The statement indicated that "nine terrorists were killed, including the so-called ISIS governor of Iraq, the criminal Jassim al-Mazroui (Abu Abdul Qader), and other first-tier ISIS leaders whose names and details will be announced later after DNA testing."

The statement also noted that "large quantities of weapons, ammunition, and equipment were seized in eight hideouts used by these defeated gangs."

It added that the force was able to completely destroy these hideouts, as well as a large workshop for manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The statement confirmed that the operation is still ongoing.

وقالت وكالات اعلامية محلية: إن "الطيران الجوي العراقي نفذ ضربات جوية على أوكار عناصر داعش في جبل بور ضمن محافظة كركوك".
 وينفذ الطيران الحربي العراقي بين مدة وأخرى ضربات جوية تستهدف أوكار تنظيم "داعش" في مناطق عدة من البلاد.
وبارك رئيس الوزراء العراقي محمد شياع السوداني، أمس الثلاثاء 22 تشرين الأول 2024، بمقتل ما يسمى (والي العراق) في تنظيم داعش الإرهابي.
وقال السوداني خلال بيان: "أبارك لأبناء شعبنا الكريم مقتل ما يسمى (والي العراق) في تنظيم داعش الإرهابي، و (8) من كبار قيادات التنظيم، في العملية البطولية النوعية لجهاز مكافحة الإرهاب والأمن الوطني، وبإشراف العمليات المشتركة، التي استهدفت جحور الإرهاب المختبئين بها في جبال حمرين".
من جهتها قالت قيادة العمليات المشتركة في بيان اليوم، ان العملية جرت "بإسناد فني وتبادل للمعلومات الاستخبارية الدقيقة من قبل قوات التحالف الدولي فجر اليوم"، مبينا أنه "تم قتل (9) إرهابيين من بينهم ما يسمى والي العراق المجرم المدعو (جاسم المزروعي أبو عبد القادر) وقادة آخرين من الخط الأول لداعش سيتم الإعلان عن أسمائهم والتفاصيل لاحقاً بعد إجراء عملية الفحص الدقيق (DNA)".
كما اشار البيان الى انه "تم ضبط كميات كبيرة من الأسلحة والأعتدة والمعدات في (8) مضافات كانت تستخدم من قبل هذه العصابات المنهزمة".
مضيفا أن القوة تمكنت من تدميرها بالكامل، كما تم تدمير ورشة كبيرة للتفخيخ وصناعة العبوات الناسفة"، مؤكدا أن العملية ما زالت مستمرة.
