Two Brother Photographers, Mohammed and Ibrahim al-Gharbawi, Killed by Israeli Drone Strike in Khan Yunis

Two brothers, Mohammed and Ibrahim al-Gharbawi, who worked as freelancers, were killed on Friday, April 26, 2024, by an Israeli drone strike in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, while they were testing their own drone.


In the details, their neighbor, Mohammed al-Hartani, told a SKeyes correspondent: “Mohammed and Ibrahim were displaced with their family from Gaza City several times until they reached Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip. They went on Friday afternoon to film in Khan Yunis. While they were trying to fly a drone, an Israeli drone targeted them with a missile, leading to their martyrdom.”

قُتِل المصوّران الشقيقان اللذان يعملان بشكل حرّ محمد وإبراهيم الغرباوي، يوم الجمعة 26 نيسان/أبريل 2024، بقصف طائرة مسيّرة إسرائيلية في مدينة خانيونس جنوب قطاع غزة، أثناء تجربتهما طائرة درون للتصوير خاصة بهما.

 

وفي التفاصيل، قال جارهما محمد الحِرتاني لمراسل "سكايز": "نزح محمد وابراهيم مع عائلتهما من مدينة غزة عدة مرّات حتى وصلوا إلى مدينة رفح جنوب قطاع غزة، وذهبا عصر يوم الجمعة للتصوير في مدينة خانيونس، وأثناء تجربتهما إطلاق طائرة درون للتصوير، استهدفتهما طائرة مسيّرة إسرائيلية بصاروخ، ما أدّى إلى استشهادهما".
