Journalist Zaid Abu Zayed, director of the Quran Radio affiliated with the Islamic University, was killed along with several members of his family on Thursday, February 15, 2024, when Israeli warplanes bombed a house next to his own in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.


In detail, his friend Talal Mahmoud wrote on his Facebook page: "My dear friend, close relative, and former manager – the director of the Quran Radio, the voice of the Islamic University, Dr. Zaid Abu Zayed – has ascended to heaven along with his wife, children, and brother Musab in a brutal attack on a house next to his. We belong to God, and to Him we shall return."

قُتِل مدير إذاعة القرآن التابعة للجامعة الإسلامية الصحافي زيد أبو زايد مع عدد من أفراد عائلته، يوم الخميس 15 شباط/فبراير 2024، بقصف الطيران الحربي الإسرائيلي لمنزل مجاور لمنزله في مخيّم النصيرات وسط قطاع غزة.

 

وفي التفاصيل، قال صديقه طلال محمود على حسابه على "فايسبوك": "الصديق والحبيب والقريب والجار العزيز ومديري في العمل سابقاً - مدير إذاعة القرآن صوت الجامعة الإسلامية، الدكتور زيد أبو زايد يرتقي إلى العلا بصحبة زوجته وأبنائه وأخيه مصعب في استهداف غاشم لمنزل مجاور لمنزله، حسبنا الله ونعم الوكيل".
