The martyred journalist Mohammed Balousha was shot by an Israeli sniper in his home in northern Gaza exactly one year ago. He wrote at the time that this was his 18th escape from certain death. Imagine how many more escapes followed this one throughout a whole year of extermination, murder, and the direct targeting of journalists.

كان الصحفي الشهيد محمد بعلوشة أُصيب، قبل عام بالضبط، برصاص قناص إسرائيلي في منزله شمال قطاع غزة، وكتب حينها أنها النجاة الـ18 له من موت مُحقَّق، تخيلوا كم نجاةً تبعت هذا على مدار عام كامل من الإبادة والقتل والاستهداف المباشر للصحفيين.
