Martyr Journalist Mustafa Thuraya
"The Voice of Truth and the Image of the Truth"

"A good death, in a good place, in a good condition that pleases God." With these words, journalist Mustafa Thuraya introduced himself in the profile section of his Instagram page.

Mustafa was born in Gaza City on October 23, 1994. He grew up and attended school there. He graduated from the Faculty of Media and worked for several Palestinian media outlets. He also worked for Agence France-Presse (AFP). He was known as a journalist collaborating with Al Jazeera for about a year.

Since the beginning of the 92-day war of extermination waged by the Israeli occupation on Gaza, Mustafa put himself in danger in order to convey a realistic picture of the devastation taking place in the Strip and the horrific massacres perpetrated against its residents.

Mustafa's wish at the beginning of 2024 was for the new year to come with the war over, and for him to be reunited with his family and loved ones in Gaza. He prayed that God would lift the affliction and grief from the people and make it easier for them.

Mustafa and his colleague, journalist Hamza al-Dahdouh, were killed by an Israeli drone missile that targeted the car they were traveling in near the Mawasi area in southern Gaza. His last words, which he joked with a colleague before heading out for his final coverage, were: "To heaven, to heaven, there's no time."

On the day of his martyrdom, his mother carried his body and bid him farewell to heaven, asking God to accept him among the martyrs. She said, "I am satisfied with what you have allotted me, O God. O God, accept him among the martyrs and place him in the highest ranks with the prophets and the righteous."

His wife embraced his three daughters, Janan, Suwar, and Masa, and mourned him, saying, "By God, you have saddened me and your daughters with your departure, my dear. Who will comfort us after this? You have broken our backs, and there is no longer any room for joy between us. You were our support, our father, our brother, and our caring friend. May God unite us with you in the highest paradise."

Mustafa joined the caravan of martyred journalists who shouldered their responsibility to convey the truth and expose the allegations and falsehoods of the Israeli enemy. They ascended, perfumed the land of Gaza with their pure blood, and wrote epics of loyalty to it.

الشهيد الصحفي مصطفى ثريا
"صوت الحقّ وصورة الحقيقة"

"ميتةٌ طيّبة، في مكانٍ طيّب، على حالٍ طيٍب يُرضي الله"، بهذه الكلمات عرّف الصحفي مصطفى ثريا عن نفسه في خانة التعريفات في صفحته على انستغرام.

ولد مصطفى في مدينة غزّة بتاريخ 23/أكتوبر/1994، ترعرع فيها ودرس في مدارسها، تخرّج من كليّة الإعلام، وعمل في عدد من وسائل الإعلام الفلسطينيّة، كما عمل لدى وكالة الصّحافة الفرنسيّة، وعُرفَ كصحفيٍّ متعاون مع قناة الجزيرة منذ حوالي عام.

منذ بداية حرب الإبادة التي يمارسها الاحتلال الإسرائيلي على غزّة، ولمدة 92 يومًا، عرّض مصطفى نفسه للخطر من أجل نقل صورة واقعية للدّمار الذي يحدث في القطاع، والمجازر المروّعة التي ارتُكبَت بحقّ سكّانه.

كانت أمنيات مصطفى في بداية العام 2024، أن تأتي السنة الجديدة وقد انتهت الحرب، وأن يجتمع مع أهله وأحبابه في غزة، ودعا أن يرفع الله البلاء والغمّة عن الناس ويهونها عليهم.

ارتقى مصطفى مع زميله الصحفي حمزة الدحدوح، بصاروخ من مسيّرة إسرائيليّة استهدف السيارة التي كانا يستقلانها قرب منطقة المواصي جنوب غزّة، وكانت كلماته الأخيرة التي قالها ممازحًا زميلًا له قبل أن يخرج للتغطية الأخيرة: "ع الجنّة ع الجنّة، فش وقت".

يوم استشهاده حملت والدته جثمانه، وودّعته إلى الجنان وهي تطلب من الله أن يتقبّله من الشهداء وتقول: "رضيت بما قسمته لي يا الله، اللهمّ تقبله من الشهداء واجعله في عليّين مع الأنبياء والصّالحين".

أمّا زوجته فقد حضنت بناته الثلاثة، جنان، سوار، وماسة، ونعته قائلة: " والله أفجعتني وأفجعت بناتك برحيلك يا روحي، مين راح يطبطب علينا بعد هيك؟ كسرت ضهرنا وما عاد في للفرحة مكان بيننا، كنت السند والأب والأخ والصديق الحنون إلنا، الله يجمعنا معك بالفردوس الأعلى".

انضمّ مصطفى لقافلة الشهداء الصحفيين الذين حملوا على عاتقهم نقل صورة الحقيقة، وفضح ادعاءات وزيف العدو الإسرائيلي، فارتقوا، عطّروا أرض غزة بدمائهم الزكيّة، وسطروا ملاحم الوفاء لها.
