Statement issued by the Jordanian Armed Forces A military source in the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army stated that a drone laden with explosives crashed this morning, Thursday, in the Azraq area after falling short of its range. He explained that the drone lost control and crashed with its entire payload next to a house in a residential area in the urban development zone, causing two injuries to two children and material damage. Loud explosions were heard as a result. The military source indicated that the cause of the drone crash, according to the estimates of experts from the Engineering Corps Directorate, was a technical malfunction in the operating system inside the drone, which led to its crash and explosion, creating a crater in the ground with a diameter of 3.20 meters and a depth of 90 cm. The wreckage of the drone was found 200 meters away. The explosion led to the shattering of the facade of a house after fragments from the drone were scattered. Men from the Civil Defense Directorate, a team from the Engineering Corps, and members of the security services rushed to the site to transport the injured and investigate the incident. The Armed Forces called on citizens not to touch or tamper with scattered objects, as they could cause serious injuries and some may contain toxic materials. They stressed the need not to gather around any site where suspicious objects fall and to immediately report them to the competent authorities. The Armed Forces urged citizens to adhere to the instructions and guidelines issued by the competent authorities, avoid spreading rumors, and seek information only from official sources.

صرّح مصدر عسكري في القوات المسلحة الأردنية- الجيش العربي أن طائرة مسيرة محملة بالمتفجرات سقطت صباح اليوم الخميس في منطقة الأزرق بعد أن قصرت عن مداها.

وبين أن الطائرة المسيرة فقدت التوجيه وسقطت بكامل حمولتها بجوار منزل داخل منطقة سكنية بمنطقة التطوير الحضري محدثة إصابتين لطفلين وأضراراً مادية، وقد سُمع على إثر ذلك أصوات انفجارات قوية.

وأشار المصدر العسكري إلى أن سبب سقوط الطائرة وفقاً لتقديرات خبراء مديرية سلاح الهندسة هو خلل فني لمجموعة التشغيل داخل الطائرة، ما أدى إلى سقوطها وانفجارها محدثة تجويفاً في الأرض قطره 3.20 م وعمقه 90 سم، وعُثر على حطام المسيرة على بعد 200 م.

وأدى الانفجار إلى تحطم واجهات أحد المنازل بعد تناثر شظايا من الطائرة المسيرة، فيما هُرع إلى الموقع رجال من مديرية الدفاع المدني وفريق من سلاح الهندسة وأفراد من الأجهزة الأمنية لنقل المصابين والتحقيق بالحادثة.

ودعت القوات المسلحة المواطنين إلى عدم لمس أو العبث بالأجسام المتناثرة كونها قد تُحدث إصابات بالغة وقد يحتوي بعضها على مواد سامة، مؤكدة ضرورة عدم التجمهر حول أي موقع تسقط بها أجسام مشبوهة وإبلاغ الجهات المختصة فوراً.

وحثت القوات المسلحة المواطنين إلى الالتزام بالتعليمات والإرشادات الصادرة عن الجهات المختصة، وتجنب إثارة الإشاعات والعمل على استقاء المعلومات من مصادرها الرسمية.
