Late at night on Monday, January 8th, 2024, a married couple belonging to the Al-Ramthan clan was killed in one of the two airstrikes reportedly perpetrated by Jordanian warplanes on Al Shi’ab (Al Shaab) village located in the south of Al Suwayda city area, Syria. According to the Facebook source called Tribes of Southern Syria, the couple died immediately.

Mrs. Marziya Rashid Al-Ramthan and her husband Atallah Shati Al-Ramthan (Abu Musabih) died in their house which was destroyed by the strike. Multiple sources posted a photo of the victims, a woman wearing a long blue dress and a black with white dots hijab; next to her, her husband with a mustache, thick eyebrows and big black eyes wearing a long brown thawb and a traditional red Keffiyeh while holding a red pearl collar. Photos of the rising smoking clouds, a warplane, and the debris were posted as well.

Twitter/X User @GeneralInspect3 alleged that Atallah Shati Al-Ramthan was a drug dealer. However, the rest of the sources did not confirm this information. Furthermore, the airstrikes were intended to affect the house of Fares Saimoua, allegedly a prominent drug dealer and partner of Marei Al-Ramthan, who was killed by an airstrike a year ago, according to multiple sources.

The media outlet Observer wrote on Facebook about two explosions, while Twitter/X user @Fara7jo reported about two airstrikes on Al Shaab village.

Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the airstrike to the Jordanian military.
