At least one civilian was killed by an alleged Israeli attack on Dar al-Salam Mosque in Deir al-Balah on October 19, 2023.
@ShehabAgency reported images of a destroyed building and civilians sorting through the rubble which were described as “Scenes from the [Israeli] massacre at the Dar al-Salam Mosque in Deir al-Balah”. A video posted by Al Haqiqa Al Duwalia, described as the strike on Dar al-Salam Mosque, showed a woman and man mourning over the dead body of at least one civilian.
@PalinfoAr reported on September 6, 2025, almost two years after the incident, that the body of 27-year-old Mustafa Munir Atta Abu al-Atta had been recovered from the rubble of the the al-Salam Mosque which had been “targeted” on October 19. 2023. The tweet included an image of Mustafa, a young man with red hair taking a selfie and wearing a green button-up shirt.
Mustafa’s name has been matched with the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) lists, which include national ID numbers. Airwars is matching individuals to the first list where their name appeared. In regard to this incident, names are matched to the first ‘Palestinian Ministry of Health List of Fatalities in Gaza’ list, which was released on October 26, 2023.
