At noon on Friday, July 12th, 2024, the area at the foot of Mount Shekoyan and around Mount Loulan in the Bradost area in Erbil of Iraq’s Kurdistan Region was hit by an alleged Turkish airstrike, injuring two civilians.

Multiple news sources reported the time and the location of the incident and that two people were injured. Rudaw Media Network reported that the two injuries were a young man and a girl. The girl’s wounds were minor and there was no need for her to remain in the hospital, while the young man was still receiving treatment.

Karwan Faisal, director of Sidkan Hospital, told Rudaw Media Network that the hospital was unable to send ambulances to the area due to the instability witnessed in the border area, so citizens transported the injured.

The media also reported that dozens of villages in the Kurdistan region were evacuated.

There was a consensus among the sources that a Turkish aircraft was responsible for the strike.
