On November 3, 2023, an alleged Israeli hit the coastal road near Wadi Gaza, killing at least eight children. Following the incident, it was reported that 11 deceased – most of them children – were taken to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al Balah.
According to the Facebook page of “Egypt’s Tomorrow Newspaper”, Israeli forces had bombed “a car carrying displaced people from the north to the south on the sea road” while a post from Musab Abdullah stated that “a group of children playing on the coastal road near Wadi Gaza” had been bombed.
Following news of the incident, people took to social media to lament the loss of the children. No details were available as to the identities of those killed.
A highly graphic video, shared by Shehab Agency, purported to show the child victims of the strike. Another image, shared by Facebook user “Princess Hassan” showed seven dead children, the youngest of whom appears to be a toddler. There were no details on the names of those killed – this assessment will be updated if further information comes to light.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to Israeli forces.
The local time of the incident is unknown.
